The set up went smoothly. You will need a USB cord if you decide not to do wireless.

Never been a machine this good for the money

This machine has performed flawlessly for almost two years, and is an excellent all-in-one home office machine. It's network responsiveness is quick and stable, and it's printer and fax do quality work fairly quickly. But where it's quality is absolutely astonishing is it's scanner. I need to do high-resolution scans for original art, where the match between original art and the digital scans has to be close to exact, at minimum. This machine gives me such amazing results that I've suspended looking for scanners costing literally five times as much. I have never, ever found a machine this good at this price...

Epson WF-7610 VOIP issues, ink type
on August 28, 2014

Setting up the Epson WF-7610 is fairly standard, remove all the tape, set location, date and time, insert ink, setup the software. What did not go well was the fax setup. Apparently this unit does not support VOIP phone connections, which is a real disappointment since so many households and businesses are going that route. This should be stated on the promo materials and at least a footnote on the box. Also, the type of ink (pigment or dye) should also be more prominently communicated. This could be a real help if it was found somewhere on the website and in the documentation. I like Epson Workforce printers for home office and personal use and makes it very convenient to have all these features in one unit. It is a medium size unit and a little heavy but realize it handles larger paper size, there are smaller versions.

WF-7610 after 4 months

I am quit critical of merchandise I purchase. This is because I have been involved with numerous manufacturing aspects for many years. That said, this Workforce printer exceeded all my expectations, the packaging was excellent, the quality of construction also excellent, I am impressed by the ease of setup, the versatility of functions, the wonderfully solid and slip resistant feet. I was amazed by the ability to update the wf-7610's firmware wirelessly just a prompt from an on-line automatic home site software check. I am thoroughly satisfied, and impressed by this product.

So far so good

So far my experience with the WF-7610 has been relatively smooth. No problems with color prints smearing, mentioned in a few of the reviews. My primary use for the printer is creating proofs for graphic art projects. That is why I like having to replace the ink cartridges individually, a big money saver! True, the printer is rather large, (some might call it a monster) but keep in mind it holds 250 sheets of paper. Which is a great feature when printing large jobs. Oh yeah, I'm big on comparison shopping and believe me the price was right. I think I've purchased the best wide format printer my budget would allow.

All went well as described within the setup CD. Seems to print fine. Couldn't network my iphone, so will try later. This printer is quite large, half again bigger than my old WF610 that died last week. Will have to get a new stand for it or something. Ink cartridges are small and expensive. This may be a drawback. Will know in a few weeks.

Well....

Setup was fairly easy on my home computer and work laptop. I was so excited that the scan area is HUGE since I am a genealogy freak, but ..... I use this printer for work since I work from home 2-3 days a week and I'm having to buy ink more than I thought I would. I've only had this printer maybe 6 or 7 months and I'm getting the 0x69 error and having to contact technical support. Which means it's probably something I cannot afford to fix. So why am I giving this printer 3 stars? Because if I were not using it to work from home it probably would have lasted me for years. If this can't be fixed I will be disappointed but I will probably buy another one just for my home use and then find something else that will last longer for work use.
