I never thought a person could get so excited about getting a phone case. But on opening the package I soon realised it was no ordinary case, it is an Otter Box Defender in Realtree camo design. This is my first Otter and will not be my last. The quality of the materials, fit and finish, & ease of assembly is amazing. It is the talk of the town because of the colour scheme, everyone comments about it and wants to know what brand it is. I proudly say, Otter Box.

My last OtterBox for my S4 was great (solid black). It may have been a little bulky but I felt like my phone was protected very well. I also liked the fact that it was easily gripped when wet and wouldn't slide on a metal surface. I think the new camo case for the S5 is a little slimmer, which is nice, but the slimmer design means less padding when dropped. It also slides all over the place which what I dislike the most. I did not realize when I ordered the camo pattern that the back would be plastic rather than rubber. I think the camo case is good for average, daily use, but I spend most of my time in the field so durability is more important than looks. I also wear gloves a lot, so the rubber backing was much better for gripping the phone. Really wish it was all rubber!
Cons: slides around, doesn't grip well

The realtree design hides smudges and grime real well but I miss the sure grip of the regular cover. I have seen the "ladies" version in pink and that one looks dirty all the time. It is too soon to tell if the realtree will delaminated or not.

Cons: print takes away the grip and makes case slick
