BEST ON THE MARKET at a GREAT PRICE

This is the fourth Epson printer that I have used. Two were before I retired and two at home.
My old Epson Artisan 800 gave up the ghost. I knew we wanted an Epson Workforce model. And we purchased the WF 3640
This Epson WF 3640 with dual trays plus the rear paper feed, two sided printing, scanning and more.
The Epson IPrint allows me to print from my tablet and Android phone with ease and along with the LARGE MENU screen makes pairing the devices the easiest thing you could ever do.
Imagine taking a photo in Colorado and printing it ON PHOTO PAPER on your WF 3640 at your desk in New Jersey. It has it ALL!
The new Precision Core technology produces extremely sharp text, fast. Being a photographer, I tried photo premium glossy paper by Epson on an 8x10 print. The details in the photos were amazing! It far exceeded my expectations.
I always believed in buying a heavy duty office printer as a cost versus quality thing, it pays to go heavy duty, it costs less in the long term
I expect and will get many great documents from my Epson WF 3640
I would recommend this to a friend!

Difficult Decision
on October 27, 2015

I want to begin by praising Epson and the quality OF THE PRINTED MATERIAL this unit produces. However, the original unit which I purchased in March of 2015 failed in September of 2015. Epson provided me with a reconditioned unit which I installed. That reconditioned unit failed in October of 2015. Epson then provided me with a NEW unit, which I installed today, October 27, 2015. Epson has been prompt and cooperative with resolving these printer failures....stuff DOES happen. When this Epson model printer is functioning, it is a terrific unit. I'm printing beautiful documents and photos now, and my fingers are crossed regarding the reliability issues. Note that Epson has done all I'd expect of a manufacturer with regards to problem resolution. Let's see how this new unit turns out.

WON'T START. ERROR CODE 0X69 THEN IT TELLS ME TO TURN OFF AND TRY AGAIN. OVER AND OVER. I REINSTALL ALL THE SET UP INFO. IT GOES THRU THE MOTIONS AND MAKES NOISE THEN THE SAME MESSAGE OVER AGAIN. I CAN'T FIND THE ERROR CODE MEANING ANY WHERE.

Great so far!!

I just finished installing WF-3640. Please read the instructions first. really important. Take less time if you follow the steps. Tip: do not peel the plastic of the cartridge head. I know, it sounds weird but the cartridge support has a pin that will perforate the plastic. I wish the instructions where more explicit. Unpack, connect to power, go trough instructions, install the cartridges, load paper, follow the settings on the screen and connect to the network. Only after all of that, take the CD to you computer, run setup, follow the steps and if your printer is still powered and the network connection setup was successful your computer will find your printer and everything works great. I'm happy so far. I will recommend to a friend.

fantastic printer. works great all the way around you really get more bang for the buck with this model. ink cartriges are priced really good. I would recommend the XL252 instead of just 252. you get 1100 pages of printing vs. 300.

Worst printer ever!!!

I hate this printer more than any other electronic device I have ever owned. I've had it for 6 months and it has been nothing but problematic. I've had issues with it recognizing the ink cartridges to imaginary codes and it never just prints. It's currently stuck in some error that repeatedly tells me to turn it off then on. I am 5 seconds away from throwing it out of my second story window. I am warning anyone who will listen. Do not buy.

Multiple Replacements
on May 12, 2015

Unfortunately, I have had to replace my WF-3640 twice. First time was a vertical "line" in any scan or copy made through the ADF. Second time was continual jamming of documents in the ADF. I've also had multiple issues with the printer "forgetting" it's WiFi connection. This is sad for me, because I've had multiple Epson printers in the past. At this point, if I have another issue, I am going to ask Epson for a refund.

Information on how to use is very sparse. If there is a online mamual in PDF I haven't found it yet. Took awhile to discover how to modify Tray 2 for legal paper Nothing mentioned in guide and no detailed manual
