Ho-humm dryer

My last dryer was a GE and lasted 49 years with only a drum belt replacement. This one does not function as well, runs long after clothes are dry and the control knob is way too hard to turn. Not impressed !
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love my new dryer / difficulty switching door

Recently purchased new dryer. Love it so far. However I did experience difficulty attempting to switch the door to open the other way. It was easy removing door however the pre-drilled hinge holes that are made available for this process on the left side of the opening are drilled so tight that’s it’s nearly impossible to hand tighten the hinge screws completely not place. You’ll start to strip the screw head long before these screws will even budge more than a turn or two. I then thought I’d try manually drilling into these holes to make them slightly bigger to accept the hinge screws. No luck now they were too big and making them just spin round and round without tightly securing the door in place. At this point I thought about either going to the hardware store for larger machine screws to fit into the newly drilled holes or saying “screw it” and put the door back the way it came. All the while I was thinking what if the original holes are now too big for the screws to catch? I held my breath as I revere engineered the entire process hoping these screws would catch and hold the hinge and door tightly enough for daily use. Throw in a dozen or so “drop and finds” of the 6 screws involved in this process (4 for the hinge / 2 for the door latch) and I just wasted an hour of my Saturday morning throw in a “Honey what the heck are you doing?” from my wife. It was a good lesson however in appliance engineering. Still happy with my purchase seems like a great dryer just don’t try to switch the door configuration. Better to be slightly inconvenienced opening the door the other way than to mess up the dryer door.
