VERY DISAPPOINTED & can’t return bc came w/ house

I’m going to have to get GE to come to my newly built house with new appliance because my fist set of linens dried in this dryer got snagged and ripped! I’m actually very upset because I’m a very first time home buyer by myself and now need to figure out why a brand new dryer is ruining my linens that I bought purposely for my first home. I know it’s first work problems but I worked very hard to get hear and even after trying different cycles and lessening the loads to see if this helps , more and more HEAVILY snagged areas and slight rips. What’s the purpose of having new appliances if within less than a month of occupancy it damages my linens and blankets.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When drying your linens, it is important to check your settings. Too much heat from the dryer can cause this. Cottons is the best option for most linens, sometimes you may want to select the Quick Fluff cycle that will have no heat. Greatly Needed

So far, so good. Dryer had the extra bells and whistles that I had on my prior dryer. Ex: Sensor dry, notification buzz, temperature setting, reverse door. The only missing feature was the dryer rack but that wasn't a deal breaker since I hadn't used often.

Door sucks

For the price it's a great drier, but there ae isues with the door opening and closing. Because of that 6 months old and waiting for the repairman because it won't start. Did I make a mistake with an entire GE home that's new construction?

Catching on drawstring

I like the dryer, but just about every time we dry a sweatshirt or sweatpants or something with drawstring it gets caught up on the inside of the drum frame real bad. Very annoying. It didn’t do that for the first year and a half, owned it for a little over two years now. Heats up great but this has become a problem 😟
I would recommend this to a friend!

Had this for 6 months, asked an electrician to come out because i thought it was a power issue on my brand new home. electrician verified the dryer was dead. asked for warranty and had to pay for someone to come out a week later... no ty, ill never buy another GE product again

Horrible Lint and Drying timne

The lint filter does not collect all the lint as the lint gathers below the filter. If you lift out the filter you see all the lint that has gathered below just sitting at the bottom. How do you suggest we remove that lint? The review on https://www.geappliances.com/appliance/GE-7-2-cu-ft-Capacity-aluminized-alloy-drum-Electric-Dryer-with-Sensor-Dry-GTD45EASJWS sums it up perfectly. Also it takes FOREVER to get towels and blankets dry. 6 hours.
