Changed my view

I got these as a graduation present back in '04 and paired them up with some darn good Klipsch speakers. These things changed the way I view sound. I thought an HDTV would improve my gaming experience. HECK NO! These things thump. The gaming experience was so rich that I felt like I had an advantage playing online. Further, I peeled through my MP3 collection listening to old songs over and over again because I heard sounds I didnt know were there. I also noticed cruddy MP3 quality. Such rich filling sound leaves little for wanting more.
Audio-philes hate and hate. Their ears may be better than mine, and their rants may be right and I may have not compared too many speakers, but my experience with Bose is one that was so good that I would be extremely skeptical switching to some other brand.

Outstanding Full Wonderful Sound

I have purchased several Bose products over the years, starting with the Bose Wave alarm clock, then the docking station speaker for Apple IPod products, then home theatre and more recently the Bose Sound Link lll Blue Tooth Speaker. These products are outstanding if you love music and good sound.
I use the Sound Link in the living room all the time in spite of having a Bose 301 stereo system in the room. The Sound Link fills the room with wonderful "full rich music". It's the only speaker I use for music right now.
I purchased the Bose Wave, over 19 years ago and it still sounds as good as the day I purchased it. When I am interested in a speaker system, I will only consider one product "Bose".
Excellent products that have thrilled me for years.

These well-priced speakers are perfect for music lovers. We get a really nice clear, full sound for the compact size. The cherry wood version is very attractive.

19 YEARS OF LOUDNESS PUT TO THE TEST. THE BEST CHOICE I EVER MADE ON SPEAKERS. I AM GOING TO GET ANOTHER SET. 19 YEARS OF THRASHING. WAIT THEY STILL WORK I AM JUST PUTTING THEM IN THE BASEMENT SO I GOT TUNES DOWN THERE. STILL CRISTAL CLEAR SOUND

Amazing sound from small packages

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For me, it is all about the sound. Full sound that elevates the music. I do my research and I buy carefully. These speakers are for a living room approximately 12 by 20. I am running them off a Harmon Kardon amp (AVR40) feeding 100 watts of hi-current power to each speaker. My sound sources include my phone via Bluetooth, CD player (yes I still play CDs), Blueray players, and my cable box.
At low volumes, these speakers shine. They deliver a full spectrum of sound. At loud volume these speakers rock. To be fair, the bass is very good but could be enhanced with a subwoofer (as with all bookshelf speakers). But I don't feel a need to carry up my polk sub sitting in the basement because these sound so good without it (and my wife get's on us when the bass moves furniture around the floors upstairs...).
Excellent sound for a very nice looking speaker. I put mine on the Bose stands and they really look great! The stands also enhance the reflective portion of the speakers on the back giving them room to operate. The sound reaching my ears is simply amazing. Love, love, love these speakers!

Great Sound, Long Life

I bought a pair of 301s way back when they were series II. If the newest series are at least as good you can't go wrong with them. I used them primarily in a small living room and now in a bedroom. Don't put them right up against the wall. The placement specs given in the owners manual are just recommendations. Experiment with how far you have them from the side walls and the ceiling or floor. When you get it right you won't believe the quality of the sound coming from such small speakers. The overall frequency response and sound quality is amazing.

Proven Cost effective after 25 years of abuse

I have a pair of 301 and 201 hooked to a 200 watt amp for almost 25 years and they still kick and are distortion free. I put these speakers through some real punishment continues high volume ,dusty garage conditions , had them fall many times on to the garage floor , had them fall onto my car hood , did damage to the hood but the speakers never missed a note, had wires crossed with the powered sub , no damage done, took them up state and out of state over the years to MC parties still no issues , My kids poked the center cone inward with a stick no problems , I have abused these speakers to no end all that punishment without covers, I am only now looking to replace them do the foam desenagrating. even that and they still sound good after a lot of music including every AC/DC album about 30 to 40 times each and then some. I have been using them in a unheated garage in NE Penn. year round since new I have retired a few amps over the years but the speakers stay the same. For this product I can truly say my money was well spent
