Great for Music - Using in Stereo Setup
on April 8, 2017

Bought the pair for my Stereo setup which I am building as I am primarily into music and not movies as of now. Paired it with a new Denon AVR X2300 setup and I finally found the soul statisfying classical music coming the way I always wanted. Warmth in music notes and clear-crisp rendering of musical instruments; including Yo-Yo-Ma and Sitar of Anoushka Shankar. Have plans to add a Sub woofer in future; but I feel I am not missing anything for sure. It has 8" Woofer and 2 twitters in L-R channels each. So it covers most ranges. One thing to note; your AV Receiver and room acoustic makes a lot of difference and you probably need to run calibration for AV setup. YPAO from Yamaha receivers and Audessey from Denon can make a whole lot of difference to your music. Few people may achieve this through manual setup of tones as well. If you are one, no need for YPAO or Audessey. On observation b/c of which I cut one star is that I cannot keep them very far apart- more than 10 Fts separation, as music seems to be lose its charm. And it could be due to my room or absence of a separate subwoofer in the setup.

Need replacement subwoofer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a set of 301’s in the early 90’s. Not what happened but a sub quit working. I can’t see any physical damage to the speaker and the connections appear to be intact. Nonetheless the speaker won’t play. Looking for a replacement speaker.

Good Price - sound relation

I bought my 301´s less than a year now, it sounds good, I had to say that my expectations where higher than what I heard, even when they sound good is not by far the crisp, detailed and powerful due the size. I paired them to my HK avr3700 therefore is no option for a lack of power or detail, Previously I had a couple of smaller cambridge and replace them with this 301 however I can not notice a notable difference just the powerful by the other hand the canbridge reproduces more pristine sound. Perhaps for the price but is not what is expected from Bose.

I ordered a pair of the 301v'. Hooked up to a real quality Yamaha intergrated stereo amplifier. Sending them back. Being a musician all my life, now 50 yrs. old, I know great sound quality. Bose are not great sound quality. They're ok for the listener who enjoys mid volume music , or background music. Good bar room speaker. Anyone looking for great sound quality, look into purchasing Klipsch RP 600's or Elac uni- Fi UB 5's. A bit priceyer, but we'll worth the money!

For a company that invests 100% of profits back into R&D ya think you would kill a 23 year old product.
