It's an irritating phone

I wish so much that I never got this phone. The screen is oversensitive sometimes where it will bring up apps on its own, take pictures with barely touching it, etc. Then other times when I am trying to send a text and you type in the first couple of letters and it brings up a choice for you, then I have to touch it like 4 times before it finally realizes it! It will dial numbers on it's own in your pocket. The battery from day one is only good for 2 days maximum. Then the only two choices of the menu screen are the hideous orange or the green. Yuck!! The only plus about this phone is the keyboard. I do like how big it is and that the keys bubble up so I make very few mistakes when typing on it. That is the ONLY thing I like about it!! All I can say is buyer beware!! I wish so much I could take it back but it is past the 14 day grace period.
Pros: Bright display, nice keyboard
Cons: Did not meet expectations, unpredictable touch screen, ugly menu background color, short battery life

This is a horrible product.

So, I bought this phone thinking it would be an upgrade from the LG Extravert, but I was completely wrong. Within two days I noticed it was defective, so I sent it back. I got a refurbished phone back. This recently broke, due to cheap quality that I later discovered after purchase. I got ANOTHER refurbished phone and it broke 3 days in! I wish I had read more reviews, this is a horrible phone that I would NEVER recommend!
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

Like any other phone, this one has its pros and cons. I have had this phone for 3 days, and it already stinks!!! I do NOT recommend this phone.
PROS:
(1) Has creative "settings" or "ways" of taking pictures (including taking several pictures in one picture - using "Mosaic"),
(2) erases multiple pictures at once (unlike my old phone), &
(3) conserves power simply by pressing the button on the upper right hand corner.

(1) Shuts off ALL THE TIME (but once you call Asurion about it & get a replacement, the problem stops),
(2) camera does NOT have a flash,
(3) cannot crop pictures,
(4) you cannot select multiple pix at once to send/text – you have to do them individually,
(5) while listening to music, you cannot do anything else on phone (like texting, putting something in your calendar),
(6) while writing a text (when using the touch screen), this phone gets screwed up (if you mess up 1 word & try to fix it, it doesn't recognize & automatically fix the word; it stops at the last letter & basically starts over, like your creating a new word),
(7) doesn't allow you to choose what kind of background you want for the main screen (other than the color - green or orange),
(8) the touch screen is so sensitive & will select random things,
(9) difficult to use with one hand (texting, taking pix, etc.), &
(10) the calendar is messed up & messes up dates.

Not a phone for talking

I have had so many complaints about the sound on this phone. The only way people can clearly hear me speak is if I take the phone away from my ear & actually speak into the microphone. Lousy design. I bought the phone hoping it would have better sound -- very disappointing.
When I use the internet from it is efficient UNTIL a text or call comes in & then the thing totally freezes up & will not unfreeze unless I remove the battery.
The saving of texts seems to be extremely limited. It seems to run out of memory very quickly even though I clean up my text messages several times each day.
There are definitely bugs in this phone -- I couldn't recommend it to anyone - - sorry!

Good design, poor quality

I have had a Samsung Brightside phone for roughly 6-7 months. Overall the design of the phone is very nice, I like the Qwerty keyboard and split screen feature. However, I have had several major issues with this device. Since I first purchased this device in March of 2011, I have had issues with the phone shutting down while texting. I returned two devices for the same reason, now, on the third device I am having the same issue. Additionally, I can no longer use the power button on my device to turn it off. Very unhappy with this phone's memory storage and camera as well. I would not recommend this phone to anyone.

Initial Impression

I bought this phone yesterday and wanted to present my initial impressions. First of all, I think that this is the next best thing to a smart phone without enduring the extra cost of a data plan. The touch screen, in my opinion, is too sensative, with a little practice it is OK. I found it very easy to set up and after reading the on -line manual, found most of the features easy to work. I plan to write another review after I have used the phone for a month or so.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: no standard phone ring sound
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Feature phone

This is my daughters first phone and it has been great for her so far and she is rough. If I myself didn't use a smartphone and just wanted a phone for calls and texting this would be my go-to device.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight

I love this phone! it has a great touchscreen but I don't like the menu layout I wish it was like the Samsung reality. it needs a real wallpaper. I love the way you can unlock it different ways and how its so customizable. but I wish it had different display themes other than orange and green.
