Good Simple Phone

I have owned this phone for almost 2 years. It is definitely pretty durable. I drop it a LOT, and it still works decently. The edges are pretty scuffed, but nothing major. Whenever I drop it the back and the battery both come flying out, even if I only drop it from about a foot high.
I am not a fan of the camera, though. It is a good phone for texting, calling, and other simple tasks (calculator, stopwatch, notes, etc) The touch screen loves to unlock in my pocket and call people. You can set a background for the lock screen, but once you unlock it you can't have a picture in the background like most phones. Mine shuts off randomly. Lots of times when I get a call or text it doesn't ring, I have to unlock it first then it shows a missed call or new text message even though it didn't ring.
The web browser works fine for me, although it could be a little faster. You can bookmark pages and out them on the home screen, which I like. The camcorder can record up to 10 minutes of video.
The music player is good for a phone. The pros:
-it's relatively easy to get music onto
-it can hold a lot of music
-there are playlists, and you can create a playlist on the phone
-you can search through the music you have
-you can choose lots of effects such as: bass booster, music clarity, concert hall, rock, pop, jazz, etc...
The cons:
-it takes a long time to open when you have a lot of music, and if you accidentally click on it you cannot cancel it, you have to wait about 30 seconds for it to open.
-I cannot figure out how to make it recognize the genre, cover art, or artist
I cannot find any decent cases for it, but I have an awesome screen protector.
Overall if you're looking for a simple, beginner phone that can do simple tasks and has a decent music player and camera, this is an OK phone, although I could recommend some better ones (but I'm not allowed to include info about other companies :P)

I use my cell phone for personal travel; it connects to the bluetooth snycmyride in my Ford Edge so I can use hands free dialing, GPS, radio controls, etc. I don't need a smart phone because I have to carry a blackberry. Anyway, Ford updated the software in my car and since then the phone will not connect. I would hate to think that every time the software for my car is updated I will have to buy a new phone. I have returned the phone to Samsung and was told that the phone's software was updated but it still didn't connect with the car. I received the phone Wednesday night, tried to pair it with the car Thursday, even took it to the dealership, it still didn't work, so I returned it Friday. If it still does not work (and I don't believe it will because it is not a smart phone) I will have get another phone AND it will NOT be a Samsung after reading the other cell phone reviews on this site. But to be honest my old phones (which I reactivated why Samsung is updating the software on the Brightside) will connect but they do not stay connected.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: worked well until the software for the car updated
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great for the frequent texter

I like the quick access the slide out keyboard for convenient texting. The voice navigator button is annoying. I don't use it, and the unintended pressing of the button is irritating.
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable

I've had a brightside for a year and I LOVE the phone, got used to touch screen and all the other features, Dropped it a million and one times and not a scratch! then the touch screen crapped out on me. I know others who have the phone and have had no problems so I'm thinking it's just a one time thing. I would definitely get another one to replace it but shopping around and looking at the prices I can't afford it and I'm not due for an upgrade til Oct.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable

My phone has never given me problems before. It is great for texting , along with storing notes and such. The slide out keyboard is perfect for me. However, this phone seems to have a history with it's touchscreen not working.
Pros: Bright display, Durable
Cons: needs more color options

great phone but the light does not stay on long enough. should have a light switch to keep light on as long as you need it

A great phone for texting and connecting

For people who don't want to go smart phone and data plan, this phone has everything you need except a really crummy internal memory.
The space available for texts is always filling up even with a 16 gig memory card installed because the phone won't use that space.
I have unlimited pictures and movie space but have to keep deleting my text messages.
