Don't waste your money on Samsung

I purchased 3 of these phones in March 2012 because they seemed like the best basic phone at the time. Within the last week 2 of them have started saying they are charging without being plugged into a charger and now one of them won't even turn on without being plugged in. Now I have to send them both back to Samsung for repair and have to be without phones for 5 -7 days plus shipping time plus they are going to reset the phones which will lose everything that is stored on the phones. They have also all had very poor reception.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The calendar reminder does not work. Do not buy this phone if you need to be reminded of calendar appointments.
Samsung needs to fix this! It's so frustrating!!!

Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

Nice features if they worked.
USB mass storage issues, card, music and software issues.
Menu options change all by themselves, screens, etc.
Text signature dissapears all by itself and I have to reneter it every day.

Not for the multi-tasker or busybody

Good: 3.2 MP camera. Big, bright screen. Doesn't require a data package ($$$) through certain providers. Music/sound quality from God.
Bad: No way to calibrate or adjust touch-screen settings, which seem dull to begin with. Can't listen to music while accessing anything else on the phone. When choosing music by an artist, the songs are listed alphabetically and not by album - why? SLOW transitions between screens (a "message sent" alert that stays on the screen for a solid 2 seconds after each text - who has time for that?). Really annoying (and slow) three-buzz text vibrate that should have been phased out years ago. When my phone is on vibrate only, I have to wait until the fourth ring before I know that it's a call and not just a text.
The bottom line: This is an attractive phone that is mechanically sound and easy to figure out. However it is too simple, dated, and un-customizable for the modern user. My 2009 Chocolate Touch is better in most ways and was cheaper too.

Love this phone!

I got this phone about a few days ago and I love it so much! It's the best basic phone you can get thats just like a smartphone, but no data plan. Although there is one con, the camera isn't the best. i know it's only 3.2 mp but they could have at least put in auto focus or something but over all, best phone ever!

Love this phone for a lower android model. Does just enough things to make it techy! Don't need all those bells and whistles! Works great and love the slide out keyboard!
