Very good for a basic phone.

Very good phone if you do not need a data plan. I already have a Galaxy Tab so I do not need a phone that needs a Data plan, I just need the phone for Calls and Texts.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

It's a nice basic phone but lacks ethnicity

It's a nice little phone that looks high tech but for the non-tech people that just want to have a touch screen. I bought this for my mother-in-law and she really likes it but unfortunately it lacks ethnicity since it does not accept special characters when getting a text (she speaks spanish and gets texts in spanish that she cant read because one accent messes the whole text). By special characters I mean accents and symbols that may be from a different language. Other than that a great little thing.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: unable to receive texts with foreign charactes

Voice recognition is very poor. Battery life very short. Awkward to handle as power button directly on oposite side of sound control, therefor when operating with one hand it is easy to turn sound down when powering on or off. and touch screen requires touching two or three times.
Instruction manual very poor. I own several other Samsung products and have never experienced this. I fing their products to usually be very reliable and of high quality. Sure missed the mark wirh Brightside.

Nice little phone but too many compromises: Can download only from app store: Have to be in browser to access links in email as email app won't let you: Next to no customization: Touchscreen doesn't like sub-43 degree temps - have to press screen repeatedly: No timer: Webpage reloads anytime screen orientation changes: 2 Demo games only: No manual in box.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight

Calendar and Alert does not work

I bought 3 of these phones and on all 3 of them the calendar and alert function does not work correctly. when an appt is added to the calendar it will save as a different date thus not alerting you with a reminder. Samsung and Verizon both know this feature is not working correctly on this model of phone, they have known since March but no new software to fix THIS issue has been released. There was some software for this phone released in May but it was nothing that fixed this defect in the phone.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, calendar/alert-reminders dont work

The alarm stopped working properly. It'll work if you set the alarm to go off in a minute from setting it but not further in the future. Not able to update new software. The phone won't connect to anything. Lock button is easy to push when in a pocket so you still unintentionally call people. Should have a code that needs to be entered.

Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

Best basic phone ever made. Battery life is ridiculously long. The phone is absolutely fantastic. Enough said.

Can't download apps and it's "haunted"

I am having a hard time finding any good apps for this phone. Also, It dials and goes to browser on it's own; even if it is just sitting on the table. It also shuts down on it's own a lot. I would like to upgrade but was told that I couldn't until my 2 year contract is up? Not sure if that is true...still looking into it. Gotta get a different phone. This one does not do enough for me! Willing to try another Samsung...I think this one was a mistake.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality, Too big, Did not meet expectations, few accessories
