Knobs don't light up

I had another LG model (same as this one, but with a different center burner). In that one, the knobs had an LED light that would light up when the knob is turned on. This model arrived and the knobs don't light up, even though they look similar and have a transparent strip that would light up in the previous cooktop. We called LG and were told they should light up. I asked for a replacement and the replacement also has the same issue. I asked LG on Twitter and they state the knobs should light up.
Either there is a defective batch of these cooktops, or the feature has been removed without any communication.
The gas part of the stove works fine.

The 36" cooktop works well when using burners at once. Pans do not hit each other. However, griddle is small and does not fully cover burner
