Still on the fence about this washer

I love the quietness of this washer but am still not certain if it washes as good as my 'old' washer. It takes way too long to wash and I'm not sure that my clothes are as clean as before, If I had to do it over again, not sure if I would buy this.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great washer except problems with unbalanced loads

Washer works great for most loads. However, have had problems with bed sheets and also jeans/pants causing unbalanced loads. And when it tries to self-recover, it wastes water and time, and I end up having to pull out the wet clothes and re-distribute them myself. If I could solve this problem, I would be happy.

Great Washer - after initial kinks

I did a lot of research before purchasing this washer, including talking with a few different appliance sales venues, as well as Consumer Reports. It works well and is very efficient - overall, I've been happy.
However, my friend purchased the same washer about 2 months prior to me, and upon arrival off the truck, her drum was cracked. She had to wait for the washer to be replaced.
When I recieved my washer, I watched it be taken out of the box in my driveway and unloaded/installed in my laundry room. On the 2nd load of laundry I did, the washer locked up, suspended the cycle, and the display froze. I finally unplugged the washer to see if it would reset, and it would no longer turn on. The self-diagnostic feature will only work if the washer will turn on, so I was unable to use that. The washer also never unlocked itself, so I couldn't get my laundry out. I had to wait for another washer to be delivered, so a load of 2 sets of sheets with soapy water had to sit in my washer for 3 days until a new one could be delivered. The delivery man had to use a screwdriver to bust the lock in order for me to get my wet sheets out. He said it was the 3rd washer he'd had to do that on. I did notice that the self-closing lid slammed more than the display model in the store, and the spin cycle was louder than I anticipated. When my 2nd brand new washer was installed, it has worked great. Lid doesn't slam (a big selling point for me with little ones that like to help), and spin cylce is very quiet, and more efficient than the first washer that was delivered.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use

Fleece - the worst thing for this machine

I share the exact same sentiments as previous reviewers relative to uneven loads. Fleece is the worst thing for this machine. We have four dog blankets made of fleece, bathrobes and sweaters made of fleece...this machine will NOT complete a wash cycle with ANY item of fleece in the load. Uneven load for hours on end, two years later my husband and I have had enough. Every weekend, we have to go through torture trying to SPIN ONLY an uneven load. It doesn't spin ONLY. It rinses and spins on the SPIN ONLY cycle. LG, I'll take my consumer spend to another brand never to buys yours again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A big waste of money

This machine twists everything up in a knot.You cant wash a single item without a full load cycle.Everything has to be ironed, and the clothes are not clean because they are twisted into a pretzel.i would never buy this again.I would take it back if i could and get my money back.

Washer does not work properly

This washer has been problematic from the moment we purchased it. The issues include not putting enough water in (as in clothes come out dry and still dirty), and only using cold water when 'hot' or 'warm' is selected.
LG has replaced the motherboard - no change.
LG has claimed that the issue was metal instead of rubber hoses connecting the water to the washer, as ridiculous as that may sound. Rubber hoses make no difference.
We cannot recommend this washer despite the attractive features, because it doesn't work.

WORST MACHINE EVER

I have had this machine for about 21/2 years now & I wish I can return it. Consistently goes off balance. I feel I am tied to my machine the days I do wash, I am always rebalancing clothes so that it doesn't refill with water. What a waste of money & water this machine is. Also not good to do very small loads, you have no control over water level.
Pros: very bad performance

No problems at all

My wife and I have 7 children we do lots of laundry this load capacity has reduced time tremendously. Never had a problem with this device. We use the correct amount of HE soap and let the machine do its job. It has corrected its own balance without any disruption/interference from us. Read the manual and let it do what it was designed to do.
