Why didn't I do my homework first?

Will not do a single load without throwing an uneven load fault. Doesn't matter if "to full," "to empty," towels, water proof things. Every load. Check other website reviews. STAY AWAY, DO NOT BUY......beedoo deedoo beedoo and there goes the fault again for the second time this load. From the reviews I've read LG does not stand behind their equipment. I guess I'm going to have to contact somebody since it WON'T WASH A SINGLE LOAD.
Pros: easy to use

BAD PURCHASE
on June 1, 2015

Bought this machine about 2 1/2 years ago, moving into new house and wanted new appliances. This was a bad purchase. Machine doesn't add enough water to cover your clothes and only gently swishes them. I bought a bucket just for adding water to this machine. Sometimes if I add too much water it will spin some of it out, but still enough to cover the clothes. Washing a load of clothes is definitely a 2-3 hour job. I often put a load in before I go to bed because it takes so long to swish my clothes. This machine doesn't clean clothes well and I have to rewash many things, often, whole loads. Waiting for anyone in the family to say they need a washer, they can have this one. I want an older model machine, one that actually washes clothes. The matching dryer works great.

Doesnt Clean!

We have had this washer for a couple of years and we hate it! Spent so much $$ on this and it takes way too long to go through a cycle and nothing comes clean. My Husband works HVAC and never had a problem getting his work clothes clean with our old 20 year old washer. Wish my old one hadn't died and wish I wouldn't have bought this machine
Pros: Style/Design

Pump leaking at 16 months
on October 10, 2015

Was 1 year in June and just flooded our laundry room (16 mos. old). Appears to have a leak in the pump. Extremely disappointed in the cheap materials that would allow this to happen just over a year. Checked for coins or some "cause" for the leak, but honestly I'm pretty diligent with checking pockets and would have been surprised to find anything...which I did not. Not a cheap product. Will never buy another.

Overpriced garbage

This by far is the worst machine I've ever owned. The machine started to rust around the top lip and at the detergent/softener tray within one year. When the wash cycle first starts, the machine "senses" the load by spinning the bottom plate of the tub. This effectively turns your well placed laundry into a VERY tight ball. For giggles, the machine will shake it to settle the huge ball it just created. It uses about a teaspoon of water to clean your clothes, it's pathetic. Clothes come out smelling awful if you don't clean it once a week. Do not purchase. I wish I had the old machine back. These new machine without the agitator bar are useless and don't clean the clothes like it should

Ok...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two problems with this washer, the first being you cannot have very large loads or it will stop and give you an error code of uneven, this happens A LOT, the second is you do not want cabinets above your washer as the washer door will hit them so it can't open fully so you have to hold the washer door EVERY time you load or unload it.

Fits KING size bedding including a comforter!
on February 27, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this washer and matching electric dryer in early 2014 from Menards. I have never had a problem with the washer (or dryer).
PREP LOAD TO AVOID ERROR: I have always been mindful about balancing the load in the basket before starting. Even the old washer my parents had since the 80's had issues with large denim loads that would cause the washer to "walk" until someone went to re-balance the load. I always make sure when I load it up to distribute the clothing evenly. I love the size since I can wash our king size bedding (including the comforter) without issues. I have even washed queen bedding and extra blankets! I actually have never had the unbalanced error stop my washer as other owners have experienced. When the basket would start to knock when I wash the bedding or towels I would go pause it, then redistribute load and start it again. This has happened maybe a couple of times since I bought it when I didn't get the load quite right when I was washing bedding. Until it got wet it was hard to tell if it was balanced right.
WASH TIME: As far as the time to complete, if I'm in a hurry I will use the speed-wash cycle and adjust temp/spin. Many of the front loaders take just as long to complete, or longer from my experience. From what I've heard from family and friends who have new washers as well, they all take about the same amount of time to complete. I have not had the issues of the refiling and draining when it tries to determine the right water level, mine appears to sense the level of water necessary on the first try. My water bill is less than I had with the old washer with the 3 water levels that would overfill on small loads since the small wasn't small enough.
FREQUENCY OF USE: Several times a week--more than 4 loads a week.
HEAVY SOIL LAUNDRY: As far as heavily soiled clothing...I don't know how well it performs. I grew up in a family that works outside a lot and can get pretty greasy, muddy, grass-stained and grimy and I haven't tested it with those kinds of stains. As a runner I will get a little muddy from time to time and mowing the lawn/gardening puts mild dirt and grass stains on my clothes, but I make my own detergent that is safe for HE appliances since I have allergies to some of the products out there and I don't have issues. In general I'm good at getting the tough stains such as tomato, coffee, grass and blood out of clothing, so maybe more can be attributed to me rather than the washer.
WHAT I WOULD CHANGE: Not much. The only bad thing I can think of is the inability to completely customize any load setting. Thus, I have to settle with tweaking the predetermined settings as much as I can. For the most part, the Prem Press/Casual and Sport Wear cycles gets me what I need.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: I have never had to call so I cannot comment about the diagnostic button or LG customer care quality.
I hope this review helps those out there trying to decide what to get. Just remember, you can't just dump laundry in, put in detergent and start. You MUST take a few seconds to distribute the load evenly around where the agitator would be. I always make sure to spread out the load and make a hole, like a doughnut, where the agitator would be and it seems to keep me from running in and adjusting it. I can just fill, spread, add detergent, start and walk away and not come back until the end of wash signal.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This washer is horrible. It is always out of level and takes 3 hours to do a 20 minute load. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy.
