Love how clean my clothes get

I have had this washer for almost a year. My kids ride dirt bikes and get super muddy. So I am quite happy that their clothes come out clean and mud free. (I do use the second rinse feature for the rough days) We are the kind of household that does not have a lot of delicate clothes - mostly just dirty. For the most part, the washer is able to balance itself and uses minimum water. However, there are some things you should be aware of before you purchase this. When it is out of balance and when you select the "bulky" cycle, it does fill to the top to keep itself balanced. It still does, however, occasionally need the clothes shifted. I found if I wash towels separate from clothes, it help to eliminate the need to do that. The other thing is, the washer spins so fast that the clothes crimp up and need to be shaken out before you dry them to keep them from being wrinkled. Drying time is diminished, but they will be wrinkled if you don't pre-shake. Last but not least, it really does clean your clothes as it has a "washboard" type surface to the sides of the agitator. and I would say so much so that you will notice an increase in lint in the dryer. (i.e. a t-shirt that might have lasted 10+ years will now only last 5 years.) Good luck with your washer! I can't say that I would get anything else - I am truly happy with this purchase.

Unbalanced Heavy Loads

This washer is a disappointment. We have a family of 4 with lots of sweats, jeans and towels. Whenever you wash these it always end up in an error code of unbalanced on spin. The laundry is so wet and heavy you can't lift it to balance it. After about an hour I get so frustrated I throw it soaking wet in the dryer. For the price, I think this is ridiculous.

We purchased this unit 5+ years ago, and although it hasn’t “broken” it absolutely has not worked as expected. Despite the high capacity, the machine cannot wash large loads. Even the smallest of loads has to be monitored and adjusted due to being uneven. It takes a full day to wash and dry 3 loads, leaves spots on clothes, and clothes come out twisted and bound. This not only wears the fabrics, but prevents proper rinsing. The fact that unit cannot ever be balanced entirely defeats the purpose of a high efficiency unit. It will try to rinse and adjust, have to be adjusted, repeat step one, repeat step two. There is no way this is saving water, and is completely frustrating. The uneven code comes on during a tub clean cycle when there is nothing in the washer, seriously?

Spectacular Washer!

After a long studied search, we decided on an LG WT5070CW washer and a matching dryer. The matching dryer wasn't available at the time we purchased, so we bought the WT5070CW and a different model LG gas dryer. Both are impressive machines, but the washer is something else.
My wife likes a top loading washer, so this one filled the basic bill, but it's more than a basic washing machine. It's kind of a top loading equivalent of the high efficiency front loaders now popular, using a whole lot less water and delivering a perfect result. What is amazing is the thorough tumbling action the washer provides without an impeller in the tub to beat the whey out of the clothes. Then the high speed spin cycle wrings the wash out so well that they come out almost dry enough to avoid the dryer. Well, almost. But the spinning cuts the required dryer time by about 1/3. While discussing the spin cycle, at even the highest spin speed, the machine remains planted in place, with a minimum of cabinet vibration. We have the washer installed on a concrete floor, but the reduced vibration could be a big consideration to anyone wanting to install this machine on a second floor. All in all, we are extremely pleased with our choices of LG washer and dryer.

I have had this washer for a year now and it is really noisy and is starting to go into unbalance alot. Spin cycle is noisy and squeaks. I originally bought it because of washing a lot of clothes for a family of 6 and now I'm looking for something different. Spent to much for a washer that only lasted a year.

This machine has to be balanced most of the time by hand, time consuming to do a load. The washer might look good but dont let appearances fool you, nor all the positive reviews. Its not worth the extra time you'll have to put in if you buy this washer. If you want to spin only it'll rinse again then spin. Waste of time to wash clothes.

Don't buy - unbalanced all the time

We have had this washer for a few years and have had nothing but issue with it coming unbalanced. No matter how it is loaded or what the load is it comes unbalanced with every load. Seems to be an issue for a lot of people.
I don't usually post bad reviews but the cost to buy this machine is too high not to warn others. We will be replacing ours and it is still on warranty.

I read all reviews I thought. I regret buying this thing. It never balanced. Clothes do not spin. It is so noisy and wobbly. Horrible horrible horrible. To top it off I use it for my 90 year old with Alzheimer's and we needed a reliable washer for her bedding. Like always I chose the wrong one! Thank goodness I have a 3 year warranty. I hope they do something about this.
