Terrible!

This is by far the worst washer I have ever owned. It takes hours to do a single load of laundry because it is constantly off balance. It also wastes a ton of water because it will repeatedly refill trying to balance itself, but never does. As a family of 5, I don't have time to spend hours trying to get one load of laundry done. We will not be purchasing another lg product after this. Very disappointed.

We are sorry to hear you are having issues using your new washing machine. Refer to the following information for how to get the best results from a HE top load washer: Always use a laundry detergent with the HE label. These products are formulated to create fewer suds which is important since so much less water is used. More is not better when there is less water in the mix. Most loads only require one to two teaspoons of HE liquid laundry detergent or one single-dose pack. If you do not use the automatic detergent dispensers, place the detergent in the bottom of the drum BEFORE you add your dirty clothes. All single dose laundry packs must be placed in the bottom of the washer - never the dispenser. This will give the detergent the longest amount of time in the water to help get your clothes clean. When you load a HE top load washer, do not pile the clothes in the center. Evenly distribute the dirty clothes around the edges of the wash plate. This will help balance the load more quickly and speed the wash cycle. Load clothes loosely, and do not load clothes over the maximum guideline on the tub. Clothes need room to circulate in order to get clean. Drop us a line on Twitter at @LGUSSupport, on Facebook www.facebook.com/LGSupportUSA if you need any other assistance. ^CP

Best washer we've ever had!

This washer and matching dryer replaced a less than 5 year old front load Tron pair. The washer is everything the Tron was not. Quiet and efficient. We never could keep the Tron in balance. After almost a 100 loads of wash of all sorts of items, we've only had an "out-of-balance" with a large blanket washed by itself. Also, we've found you do not have to layer cloths in the drum. It works perfectly fine to dump them straight from the laundry basket into the drum. Consumers of other makes and models complain their top load HE machines do not completely cover the clothes with water. We've had absolutely no issues with insufficient water. We've also noticed the wash cycle is much easier on all fabrics as there has been a noticeable decrease in lint trapped in the dryer filter. Also, the clothes spend way less time in the drier. Overall a great machine and by far, the best washer we've owned over the past 38 years.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Good Washer With A Few Negatives
on November 30, 2013

This machine does a good job washing clothes with the proper settings. However, some of the pre-programmed settings are not correct. If you want to do a normal load of dark clothes it defaults to warm water. It should be cold water. This machine is also difficult to add additional water if desired. You have to wait until the machine starts washing then press the pause button, then hold the fabric softener button for a few seconds and then hit the pause button again. This is very inconvenient. There should be a separate water level override button that allows you to select automatic, low, medium or high when making the initial setting choices.
Pros: Style/Design, Quality

Where's The Agitator?
on January 15, 2014

First off, I'm old school when it comes to washing machines. I, first, prefer an agitator method of washing clothes; second, why in heaven's name does a washing machine have to be computerized? More things to break; third, the centrifugal force wrinkles the clothes.
I could add a fourth issue~~~that being I would like to choose my own water level for each load. Sure, it saves water, BUT, if I use the WaterPlus feature, the washer uses 1.5hr. of ELECTRICITY, which is far more expensive.
Overall, the machine does fine in getting the clothes clean. I've mastered the options after two months of use and don't get the "unbalanced" message any more.
READ THE MANUAL! This is NOT your mother's washing machine.

Constantly unbalanced
on January 30, 2015

This machine looks good and has lots of features, but after a few months we've found it to be a poor performer. All the reviewers who like it had written after their initial few months. Let's see them write after the first year. It is constantly unbalanced, it keeps repeating its wash cycle after every spin, and consequently takes double (triple# the amount of water. Sometimes takes 2-3 times the amount of time to do a load also. You need to stand over the machine and shut it off as soon as it starts to refill after the spin stops. After reading countless reviews with the same complaint, it's obvious that this is a known problem with LG. Too bad; it looked like a nice washer #in the store). Definitely NOT recommended.
Pros: Style/Design, not recommended

Worst washer I ever owned
on February 21, 2015

This new technology of no agitator is all wrong. My towels and sheets form an air bubble in the middle of the washer. There is not enough water to clean the clothes. They come out with deodorant marks still on them so you know the rest of it isn't clean. Doesn't rinse out soap well. Have to use 2 rinses. Gets off balance easy. Doesn't handle blankets well either. I've had it a year. Donating it to charity and buying a front loader of another brand.
Pros: no good washer

Design flaw as this washer becomes unbalanced EZ

Loads big or small will display the dreaded UE error and stop. This washer is garbage. When it works it is great but many reviews complain of this same issue.
