Not what is marketed!

I am a mother of 4 kids and I needed a washer that could handle larger loads. Something that I could throw a large load in when I went out for after school pickup and throw in the dryer when we got home so that we could fold later in the evening or the next morning. With our smaller washer I was washing 6-8 loads a day just to keep up with need.
So, I researched and found the LG WT5070CW. It seemed to have everything we needed.
Now, less than 3 years later it's busted. It never used enough water or it used too much water and kept showing the UE or FE error. At first, I just thought it was human error. I called LG and was spoken to like I was an idiot on the first week of having the unit because it wasn't filling with enough water. I would come home to find loads never washed because of the UE error displayed and let's not talk about how unclean the clothes were. Then about 3 years later (December 2015) it overfills with water. We keep getting the FE error.
I don't recommend this washer for anyone. I have no idea what to replace it with, but we may just go back old school and do clothes by hand. Lord knows a $1600 fee over 3 years, plus all of the water and energy waste, I could probably do it cheaper myself.

Disappointing

Glad to see this appliance has been discontinued. It takes FOREVER to do a single load of laundry, even on the so-called "speed" cycle. It takes a ton of water, and if you are on well water DO NOT GET THIS MACHINE. It has emptied our well tank on a regular basis because it uses so much water, and we cannot do anything that requires water in the house when I do laundry -- no showers, no dishwasher. I really wanted to like this machine, but am constantly frustrated. I will never buy another LG washer because of this experience.

Mold!

I bought this washer in 2011. I am so glad it is discontinued! I rub the tub clean cycle once a month to keep everything smelling fresh. Noticed over time my clothes were having a slight mildew smell anyway so tonight I went searching for the problem and found mold behind the little drawer you put detergent and fabric softener in. I have totally killed my hands trying to use bleach water to clean this out but it is looking like I just need to buy a new washer that I can’t afford to buy right now.

Frustrated

I bought this machine a few years ago and it is a complete waste of money, time and water. Loads can take hours to complete due to constant UE and refills to balance drive up water bills and waste. I have never been so disappointed in a purchase as much as this one. If it died tomorrow it would make me happy.

One Flaw

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought WT5070CW Washer and matching DLGX5171 Dryer in 2014. Satisfied with performance. But one flaw that will require attention for the life of Washer. Bleach dispenser rim rust. First noticed after about 3 years. Small pieces of rust clog bleach dispenser. Rust enters white clothes, we just do not use bleach any more.

The washer continually goes off balance and restarts in the middle of a
completely different cycle that where it stopped. Takes over an hour to wash one load. Twists clothing. A total waste of money.
