I pre-ordered my Galaxy S5 and received it on April 9th. So for my experience with it has been astonishing. I had my doubts at the reveal as many others had, but I must say it is a big step from the Galaxy S4 in many ways. While this is not the new revolutionary phone we all hyped it to be, it is still a very solid phone all around.
Why should you upgrade from the S4? That depends on you. Although the S5 is only a step from the S4, it's still a large step at that. The performance is better, the camera is better, the display is better. That is what most people look for in today's phones. The design also feels more premium, however many will not be able to tell the difference from the S4 by looking at it from the front or with a case on. One major feature that may lead you to buying this phone is it is water resistant. It may not stay submerged for too deep or too long, but it will survive most cases. There are videos that show it surviving submerged in water up to an hour with no issues. Back to the point, it's worth upgrading for most, but if you're tight on cash or feel it's not good enough for you, you might wanna wait for the Next Next Big Thing.
What's so great about the Camera? 16MP allows you to film with 4K video, which looks stunning on big displays. It also has a super slow motion mode, HDR(tone) which makes the dark balance out, Selective Focus, and many other features. This phone allows you to take photos that can match professional cameras.
Many people were skeptical about the dot design on the back. The back has a good grip and premium feel to it, much better than the S4's flimsy plastic design.
The Heart Rate monitor is pretty accurate. I don't really find an actual use for it other than it's fun, but some might find it useful for checking their progress of getting fit. (Lower the heart rate, the better).
The finger print scanner for me is an actual disappointment. I can hardly get it to accept my finger print, I managed to get my index finger registered, but Its not consistent enough to use as a lock screen or a pay with PayPal feature. You have to swipe down in a straight motion, otherwise it does not work. Maybe it's just me, but compared to the iPhone 5S's finger scanner, this is just a gimmicky feature.
One thing to note, is that in the US, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile do not allow the feature "Download Booster" to be used. This was something I was looking forward to but found it absent from my phone's settings.
Everything else about the phone is solid. I haven't had any connection issues with AT&T. 4G LTE is very fast. The quad core 2.5ghz processor is great. Drop tests show that the phone can handle quite a lot without a case. Camera takes great pictures and video. Overall this is a great phone and I recommend to anyone who is looking to get a new phone.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, able to be super dim, full of features, great camera, 4k video, water resistant
Cons: not innovative as many hoped, most us carriers do not have download booster, front camera could be better
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had the S5 now for 3 days and I cant say enough about the phone. The speed, look, operations and battery life are all a joy to experience.
My trepidation about switching from the iPhone was put to rest even before I got out of the AT&T store. This is such an amazingly advanced and sophisticated device that I feel like I am not holding a telephone, but an actual piece of the future. Texting is super easy and the messages are highly readable. The call quality is tremendous, and the voices of my friends sound so much more realistic than those electronic-sounding iPhone calls. The Galaxy S 5 is beyond a simple telephone, it is amazing.
I really love my galaxy so much, I don't go any where with out it. I take it to work, to school, and to the gym, I cant think of one place where this device can't be used. Thank you samsung. One tip: please make more colors available.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, cutting edge technology, pure awesomeness
Cons: the phone is so great now everybody is gonna have
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had the S2 Skyrocket, 2 years old and working just fine. I read about the S5 and had to see it and feel it in person. I was a bit hesitant to go for the S5 because of its larger size than my S2 Skyrocket..... However, after seeing the screen and feeling in my hand how slim and sleek it was I decided to get it. I made a good decision. The S5 is amazing is many ways. The screen is brilliant and bright, processor is super fast. The camera is sharp and takes terrific close up pics. The battery life is VERY impressive. My S2 Skyrocket would usually get down to 20% after 7-8 hrs. The S5 was still at 60% after 7-8 hrs of even heavier usage. So far I have not had to charge it at all during the day. It lasts all day long.. ! (happy face).. I've only had it a few days and still learning stuff with it. Being waterproof to a degree is a great feature. I was shocked when I saw the Samsung instructional video of rinsing the phone under running water... WHOA ! Overall I would give it a 9/10.... I would give it a full 10 if it came with QI charging and charging pad, which at current is a separate purchase.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, long battery life, fast processor, sharp and detailed camera
Cons: should come standard with qi charging readiness.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Samsung Galaxy S5 Stunning piece of art

Compare to S4 it has better camera, a brighter screen, a faster processor and a more solid design. The other big deal is that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is waterproof and dustproof to an IP67 rating, which means it's almost completely resistant to dust and waterproof to a depth of 1m for 30 minutes. Samsung also introduced two new launch colors, including Copper Gold & Electric Blue and a brand new perforated design for the rear cover. It has rounded edges, the same steep sides with shiny and ridged silvery trim, and a slightly more rounded central home button shape to the S4's more rectangular outline. S5 also has a fingerprint scanner, and a heart rate sensor, too, not to mention Android 4.4 KitKat and a roster of muscular specs.
Its better then everything else, period. Has the best screen on any phone that I have ever seen. Camera is of DLSR quality with awesome features. Build quality is great especially for being IP67 certified.
