Had to exchange

By the time I started to play my 3rd DVD it started making noise and vibrating. The 4th one worked fine. Then with the 5th DVD the noise was louder and the vibration worse. Tried the 3rd and 5th DVDs on my other players and no problem so it wasn't the DVDs. Tried two more different DVDs and the noise and vibration was constant. Something wrong with the spinning mechanism? Took it back and salesperson said it in plain language - a lemon - which was also my thought. I exchanged it and will give this model another try. If I have any problem with this one, it will go back and I will try a different brand. The reason I am trying to stick to this brand is I also bought an LG 32" HDTV. Quite happy with it. Will write another review later on how the replacement player turns out. My recommendation may change!

Firmeware update brought it up to 3-star rating

Initially, this player merited at best two stars. As others mentioned, it would not store the network login, forcing a fresh entry of network password every time at the power-up. A recent firmware update fixed this, now bringing this product up to 3 stars. Given that this is such an inexpensive player, any buyer should tone down the expectation. The appls are very limited, and so far as I can tell, there is no way to add more. But if you just want a Blu-Ray player of a very basic kind, it may do the job for you. Otherwise, you should look elsewhere.

Good BD player for the money.

Pros: This was a good purchase for the money. Comes with Apps and plays BD movies as advertised.
Cons: Not sure if its the MyBook Live or the BD player but DLNA does not work well. The Hulu app crashes periodically.

This has improved the picture quality with blu ray cd's and my older dvds. It's was so easy to install and use, I coudn't believe it. In my opinion, it could've sold for more money and it would definitely still be a steal.

I picked up one as my first Blu-Ray player. I have found it to be excellent.
It takes a little longer than is generally advertised for Blu-Ray players, but it's not a problem for me. It also plays video off my network perfectly!

Great Blu-Ray player

I have had this player for about a month now and it has worked great. I would have rated features higher if it had wifi but that can be worked around. It is small and lightweight which made it easy to install and set up was a breeze.
