Performance is stunning !

The build quality and performance on the Canon 5D3 exceed my expectation coming from a Canon 6D. The Auto-Focus system is beyond accuracy and worth every penny. I recently got this and will be using this as my main shooter & using the Canon 6D as a backup. I have these paired with my L collection 50mm f1.2, 70-200 f 2.8 IS Ver1, 85mm f1.2.... Great Buy.

I upgraded from Canon 7D to full frame Canon 5D Mark III and I am happy to say that the photos are fantastic. I loved the 7 D, but this was a seriously great upgrade for me!

T2i Upgrade - Wow!
on June 19, 2015

I purchased a T2i about 5 years ago as my first DSLR. I really enjoyed the heck out of it and it opened up a new hobby/passion that should last a lifetime. Fast-forward 5 years later; I'm ready to step-up my game. I now know enough to know why I am missing shots and what I really need to take this to the next level. I read all the reviews, changed my mind at least 3-4 times and then pulled the trigger on the 5DMII and the 24-70M/L Lens. I just got back from a week in Alaska and I can honestly say I am so happy to have made this upgrade. The picture quality, focusing, and rapid fire helped me pull out some very difficult nature shots that otherwise wouldn't have been possible.

Impressive!

I upgraded from the Mark II and discovered a new world, as far as video mode and HI ISO performances are concerned. So far, that's the greatest not "very expensive" Video DSRL you can buy. AF in low light conditions, if you're not using a very fast lens, is not reliable at all and the camera has not an AF auxiliary light. Other than that, that's an amazing camera for stills and videos. It's a pity it lacks the AF auxiliary light and a built in flash...
Cons: af in low light, lacks af auxiliary light, lacks built-in flash

Canon 5D Mk III

Excellent camera, with a strong magnesium-alloy body. Also weather resistant. Excellent 22 Megpixel full frame CMOS and a 61 focus point AF system. I also love the 3.2 inch screen, nicer than what I had on the 7D. Now with the new upgrade you can have full HD video. The price point is still too high, maybe cheaper to get the 6D which isn't as good but cheaper. Great, all around camera, with fast autofocus and tons of bells and whistles.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD
Cons: noisy, costly

Great Camera

I love this camera. The still photos are jaw dropping amazing. This is my first full size sensor camera and it blows any crop sensor out of the water. What I do not understand is why a camera with such great auto focus completely lacks any focusing aid when shooting video. My eyes are not so good anymore and manual focus is a big problem for me. I guess I'll just have to get a larger external monitor.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

I love the camera but am blown away that features that should be in this camera are not, but yet are found in there new amateur T4i, like the continuous focusing in movie mode, integrated speedlight transmitter, hybrid AF to compliment the existing AF, and a simple pop up flash. It is no wonder why so many Pro's are switching to the other competition. I love this camera but I just don't understand Canon's thought process as to why they would give features like this on an amateur camera and not on a Pro camera...
Pros: excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings

What a difference a camera can make!

Upgraded from Canon 50D and WOW what a difference. My 50D was great mind you, but I can tell a difference in my shots. Maybe it's the bigger CMOS or the fact I shelled out so much money for the thing, but I am very happy with the results. Looking forward to trying different lenses. Mine came with the 24-105 that come with the full kit purchase, love it. Just wish video had an automatic settings so I could just point and shoot in a hurry rather than make sure I'm in focus etc... Even though I'm not a pro photo guy, but I sure feel like I could be with this bad boy on my shoulder!
Pros: quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu
