Very versitle, fantastic images

I bought this as a transitionary body from two 7Ds to my 1DX's... I was heading into a 16 day baseball tournament and there was no sign of my 1DX's arriving (they ended up arriving on day 14 of the tournament). I took a risk and shot this camera instead of my 7Ds and could not have been happier with the performance of this 5D3! I shot over 20k exposures in the 14 days on this body.
Image quality at high ISO is remarkable.
The Autofocus system, while not as fast as the 1DX is still fantastic and performed quite well considering I was using this body outside of what would be it's "normal" subjects.
I have now relegated this body (that makes me laugh even typing that as this is an amazing camera...) to portraits, (where it was really intended) and it does not disappoint. I'm having a hard time taking a bad photo with this camera! (can you tell I'm happy with the body?)
Pros: excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, autofocus performance, high iso capability

This camera is a wedding photographer dream come true.the low noise at hi ISO is unbelievable . For people that like to shoot with natural light this is a most have. The fast focus on low light is a very welcome feature . this camera takes away all excuses for taking a bad photo . It feels great on your hands well valance and buttons on the right place .
Pros: focusing is amaizing, noice level is near 0 at 3200 iso
Cons: price tag

Better than I could have hoped for. Solid, comfortable to use, easy to put on tripod. Standing up to winter, and seems okay with the bumps of outdoor living. Takes amazing photographs. Take mostly outdoor pictures, but works well indoors too. I use Manual Mode and the dials are easy to negotiate. Using them is a breeze. It is my early Christmas, Birthday and Valentine present to me. It's worth every penny. Highly recommend it.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, takes amazingly good photos, fun to use
Cons: need to check the manual once in a while. oh well.

I moved from the EOS 1Ds Mark II which had been a great camera in itself but the exposure quality and detail improvement is unbelievable. Still getting used to the controls but they would appear to be extremely well thought out. Incredibly pleased!

Bought this camera to repalce a 5D Mark 1 and to compliant my 5d Mark II and 1D Mark IV. I need low light capability. I was blown away by the improvement in focusing and low light performance. The noise even at higher ISO's is very low. I was able to shoot at higehr iso's and still get sharper images. Compared to the Mark II it has improved menues with improved AL servo offering similar to the 1D- though it has a nicer menu. The 61 point focusing is awesome- thank you Canon.
company X video cameras designed for low light. Just for fun I brought my 5D III and gave it a try. Wow. For all images the 5D outperformed. Many people were shocked I was using this small 5D III with my company X but all agreed the images were brighter, clearer, more vibrant and sharper with the 5D. During the very low light reception and dancing I went up to iso 12800 and it worked incredibly well. The finished videos were awesome.. Company x came no where need close on the low light. Honeslty go and shoot a video in extreme low light and see the difference. I am now in stuck going forward. I want to shoot stills with the 5D III but what about videos. The difference was so great I will have to get another 5D III to shoot videos. The only negatives for video was the manual focusing and it went through the battery fast.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, low light video, low light, high iso with low noise

Great but not perfect

I've had the 5D Mark III for over a year and it's a great work horse being made of primarily metal and strong plastic for the buttons, however there are a few things that I would like to see added to the firmware that canon could add such as rack focusing like in the Magic Lantern firmware (third party) for other canon cameras, or maybe even an intervalometer added into the software. But what many videographers want is the added ability to check focus while taking video. Perhaps a small window on the side like Magic Lantern's Magic zoom would be quite helpful. There are a few problems with the start and stop button used to record video or to switch to live view such as the button will sometimes get stuck while recording video or while switching to the Live view, but overall this is a great camera and I would definitely would recommend, however a few firmware improvements would be greatly advised.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu
Cons: Missing features/settings, Heavy/Bulky

I am a semi-pro Nature Photographer andI bought the 5DmkIII to use in conduction with my 7D.
The image quality is gorgeous with this camera. The first thing that caught my attention was the view finder, WOW! I really love this. I also bought the 70-200f2.8L is II USM to go with my other gear, this is a super lens to use with the mmIII.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
