A little disappointed

Died after 3 1/2 years

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the same model microwave 3 1/2 yrs ago. It died recently. I bought this one to replace it and match my range. I hope this one lasts longer.
Pros: easy to use

2nd purchase gone bad and no replacement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have purchased 2 of these and now the magnitron is out and it will cost more to fix than to purchase a new one. The problem is they dont make them anymore and so I will be forced to bu something that doesnt match my other LG appliances!!!

Worst appliance I have ever owned!

The first one quit after two years. I bought the same model so I wouldn't have to change anything while mounting it. Now, the second one after about two years, growls after I use it for more then a minute. I think there is something wrong with the drive motor.

Decent Microwave

This is a basic microwave that does its job well. Good wattage rating makes cooking, reheating, etc. fast and even. The look of it in my kitchen is pleasing.
Not too much more to say about the good job it does, but just a couple comments about features I wish it had.
I really miss the ability to program the range light to turn on and off that my old unit had. I liked being able to have the light come on after dark and then shut off automatically before I went to bed, eliminating the need to turn the full kitchen lights on and off during the night.
I'm not a fan of the "EZ-On" button. I like the instant on feature, but my old unit just had you press the number "1" for one minute, "2" for two minutes, etc. Having to press the ez-on button a few times to get to the time I want is a little cumbersome.
The sequence for using the specialty buttons like "popcorn" etc., is a bit confusing and you would have no idea how to use them if you don't read the manual. Not up front intuitive.
The door feels a bit cheap as it's made from light weight plastics, but seems somewhat weak and takes the perception of quality down a notch.
Overall I like this microwave for the price I paid. It's very affordable for its size, wattage rating and that it's an over range unit. If it lasts for 10+ years like my other one did before dying out, I will be very satisfied with this purchase. Installation was easy as well.

Looks good and performs very well

This product was the final touch to making my kitchen into a complete LG area. I have been very pleased with my LG purchases. The only problem is the amount of space below and above the rack for cooking. Other than that, it fits right in with my other LG appliances.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Really no timer?

We decided to order this product based on great reviews that we read, but once we got it home, we realized that there were no Timer and no Express Cook options.
Who really cares about having a special button for a pizza? That's not what I use my microwave for generally. LG could have had a big win if they had removed one of the Auto Touch buttons and added a timer instead.
Also, there are no Express buttons other than adding 30 seconds. Not really a huge deal, but I went from a 17 year old microwave with both a Timer and Express Cook options to this one. I really thought that these features would be basic features nowadays.
Pros: Style/Design

Great over the range microwave

We remodeled our kitchen in July and with the remodel came all new LG appliances and this was the over the range microwave we chose. So far, we LOVE IT! It's quiet and it cooks/defrosts the food perfectly. My only complaint is there is not a timer. Love the sleek style and easy to use panel. Highly recommend this microwave if you are budget minded.
