Great for the first one

What I mean it's great for the first Ultra HD Blu-ray Player to be on the market. I played the Ultra HD version of the Reverent on this player and it looked crisp and sharper than a regular Blu-ray player, I own a Oppo BDP-103 blu-ray player and this played blu-rays better than the Oppo. I would definitely recommend this player especially if you own an Ultra 4K Samsung TV like I do, the combination goes well together.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Product Lacks Luster, is Difficult to use
on June 13, 2016

For a 'flagship' product, this unit scores very low on ease of use, display (none), and speed of operation. The tiny remote is difficult to use, and all functions (menu, etc.) have to be navigated on the TV screen. This is not new, but the tiny remote is.
Pros: Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, no display just 2 leds
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

HDCP 2.2 vs. 2..0
on April 4, 2016

The product spec, manual, and label on the HDMI connections does not say if they are HDCP 2.2 or HDCP 2.0. It says its a 4k player, but it will not play 4k because my TV is (also Samsung) is 2.0. The TV is also a 4k, but will not play 4k because of the difference.
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This us a terrible remote. This great player can not over come the awful remote. Even the 4K TV's remote are terrible. Great hardware hindered by a crumy little key fob of a remote.
Pros: Realistic color
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Audio Issues

This player's video is excellent.
The issue I have is, the player does not output audio to the TV via its HDMI output. The audio only HDMI transfers the audio the my receiver, but without the receiver, I have no audio - nothing comes out of the TV. The TV's audio worked fine with my other BlueRay player. What gives?
Did anyone else have this issue?
Pros: video is excellent; great color and contrast.
Cons: the player does not output audio to the tv.
I would recommend this to a friend!

You haven't seen 4K if you're only watching 4K over the Internet...

You've never seen 4K until you've seen it from a 4K Blue Ray. The compressed streams from Netflix, Amazon, Ultraflix, etc. do not do 4K justice.
Video streams off the Internet might as well be 1080i, especially when there is a lot of action of the screen or subtle shading where the compression is very noticeable. (I have 100Mb internet service, so it's the compression not my pipe).
This player is amazing. It makes 1080p BlueRays look fantastic but 4K UHD BlueRays are spec-tac-u-lar! My sony XBR has never looked better.
Please - spend a few bucks to get the latest HDMI cable. An old cable can compromise the experience. You'll need a new cable - but it doesn't have to be an expensive cable (I bought the latest Amazon Basics HDMI cable, less than $10).
The remote also is very basic.
I can't believe that other folks are commenting on how 'expensive' the player is. REALLY? I thought it was fairly inexpensive compared to other high end electronics. I guess compared to a $75 blue ray player it's pretty pricey (but you get what you pay for).
