I decided to make the plunge into 4K HD blu-ray discs and bought the Samsung UBD-K8500 player. I have a plasma flat screen, not a 4K HD flat screen, but the Samsung player produces sharp, distinct images. The picture is magnificient. Setup was a snap. If you want to upgrade to 4K HD blu-rays, this is the player to add to your home theater operation....
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight

For your 4K TV

This is one of very few blu ray players on the market in 2016 that can play 4K UHD HDR blu ray discs, and it does a great job of it. Some of the advertising is a bit misleading, I originally got the 2015 version of this player because I thought it had 4K UHD compatibility, but it cannot play the UHD 4K discs. I returned that one, I think it was a UBD-6500. Otherwise, the feature set & interface are almost identical, this is a great blu ray & media player!!

Beware- does not come with cable, that's xtra money. otherwise great blu- ray player

This is a great product. I love that it plays 3d blu-rays also. The picture is so clear with 4k discs too.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Inexpensive, Lightweight, 3d player as well

4K DVD Player

We received a new 4K 55" Flat screen for Christmas and couldn't wait to get a new DVD player too. Samsung has always been a great product and we are thrilled to have purchased one. It is compact and the picture is crisp as is the sound. We love it.

i am not electronically literate and i installed this on my home theater without any problems and got on the internet with it.
Pros: Durable, Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: the battery in the remote is one of those odd size

Only if used with a 4K TV(I witnessed a few people who purchased the dvd player without having a 4K tv)....however , even the design was different than your usual player. It fits perfectly with my 4k curved tv
