This unit does a great job of up-scaling other Blu-Ray and DVDs to look much better than they would otherwise look. The Samsung Smart app gives you access to multiple streaming services including Amazon and Netflix. The UHD movies look amazing on this player. When you see a Blu-Ray and think that is about as clear as it can get watch a UHD movie of the same title and you will be amazed.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight

Only had it for a couple of weeks but very happy with the new uhd Blu-ray kingsmen looks Awesome in 4K

Easy to set up and begin watching movies. Its light, good looking, with many features. Gave it 4 stars for overall rating due to IMO remote control is too small. Why does Samsung make their remotes so small. Have dropped my remotes for my Samsung curved TVs many times. I'm sure it will be the same with this 4K player.
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: remote control size

Got mine last Friday and all I have to say is wow. Colors are poppin. Best part is when I pop in a 3d blu it gives me the option weither to watch in 2d or 3d. Way to go Samsung.

When I bought this player I was looking for a native 4K bluray player to avoid up scaling typical issues frrm other brands.
I was greatly surprised that even playing DVD's (480p quality) this player up scaling capabilities were far superior than other bluray players that claimed 4k upscaling capabilities.
Now I can enjoy my old media in my 4k TV with superior visual experience I never had before.

I have to say this player is AMAZING perfect picture quality. The load time on discs is super fast even though my Samsung TV isn't HDR, the picture quality is still beautiful I have the hu8550 model with evolution upgrade I highly recommend this player to anyone 5 ***** Stars

HD BLU-Ray player

I was a little nervous purchasing the only available model of 4K hd BLU ray player available on the market, but so far I absolutely love it.
The player itself sports a simple design, not a lot of inputs on the back so even if you are a novice with electronics and home theater set up is easy. The on screen menu provides excellent support as it ACTUALLY EXPLAINS WHAT THE SETTINGS WILL DO!!!! You have no idea how many other electronics manufacturers out there just list the settings and force you to hunt down the pros and cons of each.
However, I had to read a CNet article / review to know that in order to really get the true 4K experience I had to adjust a picture setting on my tv set.
Once it was up a running (make sure you get that HDMI 2 cable) it was a breeze.
I only purchased on 4K BLU Ray and I had to go all over creation to find that ... Not a lot of content just yet, and they are pricey but I hope that both of those aspects change in the near future.
The color and sound were spectacular! I hope that my regular BLU Ray discs look and sound as good but I know that they are not true 4K so it would be an upscale image at best.
If you have a recent 4K tv and love movies this is the best BLU Ray player currently available!
