I haven't had any issues or problems with this player. I don't mind that it doesn't display the time on the front of the player because it's in an av rack and you can just press the info button on the remote to see it on the screen. I've read that no one likes the remote, but I just use my remote from my other samsung player.
Cons: curved

The k8500 is just what you need for your 4k TVs. I recently upgraded from a c5500 and the response time and quality are key! First movie I watched was the revenant in the ultra high Def and the quality of the picture, the contrast, the darker colors and the richness of the picture was breath taking. I purchased this knowingly that I would eventually have to upgrade to get into native 4k now all I'm waiting for is the audio in the k950 sound bar with dolby atmos. I do like the curve design even though I don't care for it much but it's sleek the only thing I don't like is the remote. The remote for this player stinks and would of preferred a smart remote similar to my 8500tv where it has a TouchPad and a mic to speak into it. Using the directional buttons during setup was a bit painful entering email , passwords and other things. All in all the player is definitely worth it especially if you want the best out of your 4k TV. Another added bonus that caught me off guard is that this player is 3D as well. I was in the market for a cheap 3d player being that my TV is 3d compatible but when I saw the decal on the player for 3d I was pleasantly surprised.

I had a upscalling blu Ray player that would upscale bluray to 4K. This player does it a little better, and actual UHD 4K Blu Ray looks amazing with HDR. Glad I picked this up!

This 4K Ultra HD player is built solid. Although it is currently ahead of the curve and therefore priced high, as 4K becomes more popular.

Good first generation HDR player

This player does a good job of playing HDR movies, 3D movies and bluray movies.and up scaling to 4K. The design appears cheap and plastic but functionally it works fine. The instructions on how to add apps or move apps on the player are non existent and need to be added in a firmware update. The on/off light is too small and is very difficult to see from more than a few feet away. The remote is very bad and I ended up using my remote from an older model player.
Pros: Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality

Amazing clarity and color. Upgrades regular blue ray DVD's to 4K quality picture. Very good picture quality.

I really like the look of this unit. It plays our 4K media as it's supposed to and it truly looks amazing on our TV. The biggest problem is the interface and the apps. We own a Samsung 4K TV and it has a vastly superior supply of apps. I wish this Blu-ray player used the same app store. I also wish the smart remote that came with our TV worked on the Blu-ray player. I think it should. The little remote that came with the Blu-ray player is fine but not great. It's easy to got lost on it using just feel. I also want to be able to customize the home display and what apps show up.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, 4k
Cons: weak app selection., remote, lack of custimization
