I love my new Roomba. It has come a long way since my first Discovery series which was fine except I gave up using it due to kids and ferret trying to ride it. :) My kids are now grown and Im down to a husband and small black Pomerainian (lots of hair). I have a larger new house and my floors are mostly all tile. I bought it because of health problems and am not able to vacuum the whole house everyday. I was amazed at how much it picked up the first time I used it because I had just vacuumed the day before. It runs from room to room for a long time and its very cool how it senses and slows down before touching walls and furniture. It recharges fast, after the first initial charge. Now I can keep up with the other cleaning chores. I am thrilled! I remember I used to hate cleaning the bin and brushes on my old model but this one is so easy and fast. I empty it every day just to see how much is on my floor in one day. WORKS GREAT for my needs. It does really well on regular wall to wall carpeting and my small area rugs, but I have two larger area rugs that are thick and have textured swirls, and the little guy gets caught in the middle of them. But it still saves me a lot of work. I would recommend this to anyone that would like clean floors but can't or doesn't have time to do them everyday. I just wish the extras, e.g., virtual walls, lighthouses, weren't so expensive. Soon as I get some extra money I will be checking out the Scooba!!! I'm also waiting for a robot that could dust and clean bathrooms. :) THANK YOU iROBOT for making life a little easier.

Get one, you won't regret it! You will love it; it will change your life. I love my Roomba; I can't say enough good things about him. We had an older model, and he was stolen in a burglary. (I was so upset, the police thought "Roomba" was the name of some pet we had.) So we got the 770, and he's even better than his older counterpart. We have him scheduled to clean every day, and he goes through the entire house in a very orderly fashion, getting all the rooms. We bought a house a year ago, and other than the week or so between the original one's theft and the new one's arrival, we have NEVER had to vacuum. We have two cats and I am very, very picky about the floors. Without Roomba, I would get fairly OCD about vacuuming, and it never seemed to stay clean. Now I don't even have to think about it, and our floors look amazing. I do empty his butt (bin) out at least every other day, but it only takes a few minutes. However, be sure to GET THE CLEANING TOOL! Our first Roomba was remanufactured and did not include the cleaning tool (small red ring-like brush cleaner with teeth). I told my husband half the price was the Roomba and the other half was for the cleaning tool, that's how much time and effort it saves. I haven't had any problem with him falling down stairs or knocking things over. The only cords that he might eat are the smaller ones, like cell phone chargers or ear buds; average appliance/light/etc cords are safe. Our new Roomba does have a fetish for bras, and occasionally will drag one around while he's cleaning. If we come home and he's not on his dock, it's usually because he choked on a bra and died somewhere. (This is a very rare occurrence though.) A few times he has also managed to shut himself in the bathroom. But these are such trivial issues considering how much time and effort this things saves. It's truly amazing.

I am in love with my Roomba. I am 65 years old, have a full time job, commute about 2.5 hours a day and have 3 indoor pets. I run "Alice" about 3-4 times a week. I can come home, relax and let her clean away. Frees up my weekends so I don't spend them cleaning. Also saves me money because I don't have to hire a maid to come in once a week to clean. Love it, love it!!!

Best Money I've spent in a long time

I love this robot. I have an attrium ranch approx 2000 sq ft of hardwood floors, with one black lab and one long hair tabby cat and a husband. My husband and I both work full-time jobs. I needed to vacuum daily. I researched the different roombas and other brands for about a year, but was still skeptical when I bought this; I shouldn't have been...it works like a dream. I still run Rosie daily, but I'm not having to come home from a long day at work and push and pull a vaccum around the house. Pros: She will clean under the bed (she isn't scared) and under furniture. She can figure her way out of tight places and jams. And she can complete the large area of the house (kitchen, harth room, breakfast room, great room, dining room, laundry room, butlers pantry) ALL on a single charge. Cons: She doesn't do carpet as well as hardwoods. I have area rugs and she leaves pet hair at the edges as she transitions from rug to hardwood. She is a bit too noisy to run and watch TV at the same time. She doesn't do stairs, or the dusting, or cleans toilets, tub/showers, or windows!

I had been coveting a Roomba for several years as I had heard nothing but praises. When we got hardwood floors throughout I convinced my husband NOW was the time to take the Roomba plunge. at first I was very disappointed! It was missing alot of dog hair around the edges of area rugs and in certain areas. By trial and error I have discovered the answers for us at least. 1) Schedule it to run EVERYday if you have a pet(s). 2) Don't overwhelm it by defining too large an area.We blocked the sunroom and left the kitchen, dining area,living room and breakfast area.By the way I am happy to clean the bin daily to get the results! (Very little white dog hair on my hardwood floors)

No more cleaning under beds/ uph chaiirs

Recently got dark cherry floors and they show everything. It was difficult to keep up with dust, cat hair, etc...that the sunlight seemed to show constantly on these could be pretty floors. After the constant battle cleaning the floors we got a 770 iRobot. He is perfect and we like our floors again. Like with anything he is learning our home. For those thinking he is missing spots, give him a chance. Just when you think he'll miss a spot he'll catch it before he finishes that area. Yes he has gotten hooked on decorative tables but we watched him rotate himself until he was free. It was interesting watching his mind figure out what to do and we let him do his thing. The worst that could happen was he would wear out his battery, but oh no it never came close to that. He would spin and turn in seconds and figure it out. We didn't panic and nor did he. We found by adding felt pads to the feet of these items it raised them just enough that he now cleans under them without event. He cleans under kick pleated uph skirt chairs, sofas and under the beds. Wow! These are areas that would have been a pain to clean in the past and now he does it with no effort. A few say his dirt storage bin is a little small. Not so, unless you start out with a lot of lint and dust maybe under beds, etc...That would fill it up fast. We clean, excuse me "he" cleans almost daily and unless something out of the normal happens you will only be checking it every other day. I have long hair and I find it gets wrapped around his beater bar roller after doing my bathroom and bedroom. I turn him over pull it off the beater bar and we are ready to go. It doesn't fill up the bin it's just something that gets on the roller. I do that after those rooms, but it wouldn't stop the cleaning process. No big deal!! He doesn't hurt furniture or make marks on wide white base boards. If you are considering one...go for it. No regrets. Note 770 cleans from room to room without assistance which means the next model is $100 more for doing away with the buttons on the remote. If you set the timer on the system for auto cleaning you will not use the remote very often. If the new remote has a direct command for spot and dock in addition to the directional ones it may be worth the extra. Note even the 770 without a seperate button control you can lead the unit back to the docking system.

1 Year Later... And it Still Works!

Okay, I was suspicious and anxious. [$] is a lot to pay for anything. The reviews seemed mixed. But most of the negatives came from those who purchased from a 3rd party vendor, and didn't or couldn't register the product. My programmable Roomba has run 7 days a week for 365 days; vacuuming 1100 sq ft of hardwood covered with dog hair without a problem. Of course I regularly clean the vacuum and do the recommended maintenance which isn't difficult at all.But if anything is better than this product, it's the TechSupt. Honestly, I'd buy this product just because of them. They actually "converse with you" offering clever tips and tricks not necessarily in the manual, e.g. [Use a rubber eraser to clean docking contacts]Overall, I definitely got my money's worth, and I will buy the Looj gutter cleaning robot.

My Roomba Rosie Ibot the BEST!!!

I wrote a review in January when I first purchased my ibot. My idea was to use her as a supplement cleaner in-between my main vacuuming That has changed. She is my main all the time cleaner. I use my big, heavy bulky vacuum in between if I need it but I usually don't. I absolutely love my Roomba Rosie Ibot and my granddaughter who put all those good job stickers on her still talks to her. What a great invention. If you are reading this review please try it out. You will be so pleased. It is a time saver and keeps our house clean. I can spend more time with my granddaughters and less on cleaning. I truly wish it was around when my sons were growing up. All the hours cleaning took away from just being with them and they grow up so fast. Please forgive my chatting on and on.
