Not that great

My roomba is set to vacuum my (not too big, not too cluttered living room) twice a week, which is plenty for the amount of traffic in my house. More often than not, I come home to find the roomba stuck on... nothing. It'll just get itself stuck in a corner, or around a doormat, or I guess just run out of batteries trying to find its charger. I go out of my way to tidy up before the roomba vacuums, and to arrange cables so that they're out of the way, but the roomba invariably manages to grab a cable and drag it around, and unplug something. Its proximity sensors are inadequate, so it'll bump hard against furniture and sideboards and leave black marks. If you have paper-sided lamps that reach the floor, it will destroy those. If you have furniture that's just the wrong height, it'll get itself stuck under there (can get in but not out). This thing is more trouble than its worth, and I guess I'll have to go back to my regular old vacuum cleaner. Maybe in a decade these things will be usable.

We have a 1812 sq foot rental home with all hardwood and tile floors downstairs. We bought the Roomba for the tile/hardwood downstairs. The first pass the robot didn't use much logic, it just rammed into things, didn't follow walls, etc. It also misses a lot on hardwood floors and tile. It was pushing around some debris and wasn't able to pickup certain things. I had to sweep what it missed. Such items include small rocks, small chunks of burnt wood from the fireplace, etc. Anything that's not dirt or dust this thing really can't pick up. It simply doesn't have the power and if it's hardwood or tile these items slide so the robot just ends up pushing it around. I believe this robot would fair better with that stuff if on carpet. People on here claim it's better for hardwood and tile but that's not the case. Carpet gives the robot something to push debris against meaning it will pickup more. It doesn't go over something if it misses it. I've watched this robot run over debris and move on to the next area of the house never to come back and pick up what I can clearly see on the floor from 15 feet away. With that said it's a great device. It does get all the dirt, dust and pet hair. I just wouldn't say this is an upright vacuum replacement. I'm going to get a Dyson next so I can go over the floor weekly to get what this robot misses. I like it because it does generally keep the floor clean and it cleans the air a bit when it moves around. The main benefit being it's automated general cleaning. I wouldn't call this thing a deep cleaner by any means. They need to improve a lot with this machine however.

Cons: Does Not Clean Stairs, Doesnt Cover Entire Room, Misses Debris

This product definitely picks up a lot of dust and pet hair. I have cats, hard floors and area rugs. It's thorough enough for maintenance, but I still need to vacuum at least once a week. The dirt collector fills up quickly, so I usually only run it when I'm home. For the price, I was hoping that it would work better. It doesn't really clean the entire room, and tends to get hung up under my side tables. I wish it was a little lower in profile so it would be able to get under my couches & ottomans. The only things it can really get under is bureaus and beds. I would recommend, but I don't think it's worth the price.
Pros: Easy To Install, Easy To Use, Extends Functionality, Increases Performance
Cons: Doesn't get every spot, Hugs baseboards too much, Noisy

This is a great toy:) Must better than the Dyson handheld that stopped working after two uses! My husband even gets off the hook for giving me this for our anniversary :)

As a single guy living in a 5 room apartment, I love many aspects of the Roomba 770. This little robot is "set it and forget it." I schedule my Roomba to vacuum every morning, right after my alarm clock goes off. Once it is done cleaning it returns "home" to its charging base. If I happen to make a mess during the day, I have Roomba make another round whenever I want.
Pros: Easy To Empty, Easy To Use, Efficient, Lightweight, Long Power Cord, Powerful/Good Suction

A little disappointed

I purchased this product because I work full-time and have a large home to clean on my own. I also have a couple of dogs and found myself vacuuming twice a week or more sometimes. I had high hopes for the Roomba. This model had good reviews and I thought how wonderful it would be to have help vacuuming the floors. Pros: -For a small vacuum, it picks up pretty well. -It does a good job picking up pet hair and dirt on my wood floors. -Sort of hands free (except when it get's stuck under furniture) Cons: -Every time it switched from wood floor to area rug it left a big pile of dog hair behind. -It couldn't handle my plush area rug at all. It got stuck and told me to move it. -It got stuck under furniture easily, even when I tried to use the virtual wall. -I had to empty the debris bin frequently. -It didn't transition well between different flooring.
Pros: Cleans Under Furniture, Long Run Time
Cons: Misses Spots, Small Debris Bin
