Sanity Saver

When I replaced all the carpet in the house with tile, I thought I was going to go insane with dog hair floating in the air. With no carpet, it had nothing to which it could attach. I had seen the Roomba various places, and my neighbor had received one for Christmas and loved it, so I started to do my research. I picked the 770, and I love it! If I ran it any more I would be accused of Roomba abuse! I have named mine Walt, because it does an awkward type of waltz like I do. The only thing it does not do is climb walls and dust blinds, but we are working on those tricks! Seriously, yes the bin is small and will fill quickly, but if you run it regularly this is not a problem. Best of all, no more dog hair floating!

Why didn't I listen to my wife years ago. This thing is awesome. The floors are walk on barefoot clean. The scheduling feature works well, set and forget. Not as noisy as I expected. Easy to clean the dust bin and brushes. No problem transitioning from vinyl to hardwood to carpet. Fits under bed, dresser and nightstands, the places that never get vacuumed. But be forewarned, it is like fish in an aquarium. For some reason, you want to stand and watch it work! Guys, get one for your wife. Remember: happy wife, happy life.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room, Deep Cleaning Ability

3rd Review, please read 1 & 2. My 770 has been on the job for two months. It is set to run every day. It runs 1 hour before returning to the dock. I use the remote to call the Roomba to me for cleaning, I send it back after cleaning. The dirt bin did fill often at first. My floors are so clean now it takes 2.5 hours before the red light comes on, this is when I clean it real good. I suggest removing the clear plastic housing from the dirt bin every month and carefully clean the vacuum fan blade and air ports. Unfortunately the yellow filters allow some dust to get by. I think the dust is bypassing the filter flanges. This is not a serious problem, once a month cleaning is after 30 + hours of operation. Roomba got stuck on and under certain things at first, after making a few easy changes the sticking problem is solved. I am watching TV right now, writing this review and Roomba is on the prowl. The noise level is very tolerable. At first I restricted Roomba to one room at a time using the virtual wall. I let 770 go all over now, it vacuums about 1500 sq. ft. for each hour of cleaning. Yes it may skip a spot or two but I use the remote to drive Roomba and use spot clean. If it skipped a spot today do not worry, it will get it tomorrow. From time to time, it will stay in an area of my home and seems to be a redundant waste of time, ignore this, it is doing it job, it will move out and continue cleaning. Tomorrow it may operate like this in a different location in my home. I have learned how to alter its cleaning path by making small adjustments in the placement of furniture, yes this really works. Roomba does slow down just before making a direction change when sensing large solid objects. It does now slow down for chair legs and other similar items. It bumps at full speed with enough force to move the all wood chairs. It does not appear to damage the furnishing but I wonder what impact this may have on the life of the 770. It would be nice if IRobot would address this issue. This bumping issue has not been a problem for me at all, The Roomba is so well built it can probably take a lot more. The 770 I gave my daughter is also working great, she and her family love it. There situation is; homeowner (large home), very high traffic (2 children with friends), one dog that sheds and girl scouts. Our 770's are the only vacuums used in our homes for the past two (2) months. As Tony the Tiger would say, "There Great". As a disabled/handicapped person, my Roomba 770 is absolutely and without any doubt, what I needed to clean and maintain my home. This product will do the same for anyone.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room, Deep Cleaning Ability, Hassle Free Operation, Long Run Time, Pet Friendly, Quiet

Great Vacuum

Our household has 2 cats, a dog and a teenager. Our 770 robot is scheduled to run 3 days per week. I clear the floor as much as possible, i.e., toys, stools, chairs, etc. The robot can and does clean around things, but I prefer it to have as much floor space as possible, the same as when I vacuum with another machine. While it is running I will stop it to empty out the bin 2 to 3 times, again this is my preference. Our furniture was low to the floor, but I purchased new legs that raised it off of the floor enough for the robot to go under. Occasionally, I unplug the docking station until it has run for close to an hour. The robot will not get within a 4 ft range of the station until it is ready to dock and then it goes straight to it and leaves the rest of that area untouched. With all of that said, I wish I had bought this sooner. The robot cleans our carpets and tile floors wonderfully, picking up all of the cat/dog hair, dust and dirt. The battery last 1.25 hours. Sometimes we let it have the run of the house, other times we use the virtual walls.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room, Hassle Free Operation, Long Run Time, Pet Friendly

You won't believe till you use it...just once! It is a joy to "push clean" and forget it! I am 62 years old, two labs and a bad back. I truly feel my house is cleaer now than when I vacuumed myself. You WILL NOT be sorry if you purchase this amazing machine. I purchased one for upstairs as well! I am now a dog hair free home!

Roomba 770 = Less sweeping

Potential Roobma buyers, you will be very happy when you have this robot join your routine. I have had the roomba for just over 1.5 years now. Our overall experience has been great and helpful to our busy lives. Allowing us to not sweep so often to keep our place clean. We run the roomba everyday 1.5 hours before my partner comes home so she comes into a clean place. We have a place that is just under 800 square feet. We notice that our 5 room unit, roomba doesn't always get all the rooms. From the once location, over the entire week it is able to cover them at least once. We clean it on weekends which I am sure not as often as would be recommended. We use an air duster to clean roomba out as well as clean out his filters. Some of the hairs wrapped around the brushes don't always come off with the tools provided so we just use scissors. Cleaning it takes under 5 minutes. Which is far better than the 2-4 times sweeping a week. Roomba is plugged in a location that is out of the way but we can see if it get back. If we notice it didn't make it back it is likely that one door is closed and it locked himself in. This is promptly followed by a "Ohhh Roomba...". Roomba was in a place of 1300 square feet before. Having to move it everyday to a new location so the entire place got covered within a week. Not a big deal but something to remember everyday to do. I have to say I am sure not like your regular customer. Once I saw the roomba first come out, I knew I would have one at some point in my life. The transition wasn't hard at all. I sort of designed my apartment so it optimized roomba's ability to get around and clean. Trying to buy furniture that wasn't too low to the ground. Items are spaced out in a way that don't block it. Removing all the loose wires off the ground. I can see for the not so tidy person roomba always getting snagged up often. For us it get's snagged up on the odd charging cable the gets knocked onto the ground or tie, maybe once to twice a month. I hope you find my review helpful when you are deciding to purchase a roomba. I wish I though of the air duster earlier, because once roomba is all cleaned out it works like a charm.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Hassle Free Operation, Large Debris Bin

The Honeybadger

It doesn't care! It just cleans! I have mine programmed to run at 10:00 am when I am almost always gone on weekdays and at 2:00 am on weekends. I live near a busy street so there's a fair amount of dust and the Honeybadger keeps it at bay. My cons are minor quibbles. I do clean mine once a week because I burned the end of the rubber brush by letting my daughter's hair get tangled in it. Do beware households with long hair. I know it sounds dorky but I clean it once a week on chore day. The time spent not wrestling a vacuum is so worth it. it isn't perfect but it's about as close as I think one might be able to get with a robotic vacuum. I just hope it holds up. I've had my 770 three months or so and love it.

We were very skeptical at first but after a few days we found ourselves wondering how we lived without this machine! We have hard wood floors and tile and she cleans like a champ. We set her to clean when we leave for work, and she does her thing while we are gone, so we do not hear her. She has only got stuck once and we think our cats had something to do with that! Great buy and we have recommended it to all our pet owning friends!!
