excellent smoker and grill.

It works perfect as smoker grill and very easy to clean and high quality . With friends and family is very enjoyable for its large cooking space . I highly recommend it . But it is not for inexperienced grillers .
I would recommend this to a friend!

THIN METAL

The metal is way to thin. The charcoal grate is warped and doesnt hold it any longer, it also has burned through the bottom of the main grill. The firebox is burnt through in places and the damper and fire box door have decayed to unusable. The lids never did seal properly but it was functional. Had to drill a hole for a proper thermometer as well. Unfortunately it only lasted a single season even when kept covered in the off season. Very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Peeling paint

Bought this smoker on Saturday. Started a fire in fire box Sunday morning , within 15 min the paint was peeling of the box. Now my 1 day old smoker looks like it's 10 years old !!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

OK, but not great.

On the first use, I started a chimney of lump hardwood charcoal, the paint immediately burned off the bottom of the firebox. (See picture) Yes, I had the grate installed correctly. My guess is the gaps are too wide for this type of charcoal and it fell through. By the end of this use, the grate itself was warped. My plan is to reinforce the grate with better steel and close the gaps. I might even repaint the firebox.
As others have noted, there are serious gaps in this unit that lets the smoke out all over the place. The back of the smoker is the biggest issue. My plan is to work on sealing as many of these gaps as I can.
Lastly, the temperature gauge does not have degrees. You are left to guess what the temperature of smoke chamber is. This is not a good way to smoke! My plan is to modify the smoker to take a better quality gauge.
Once I have all these modifications done, I hope this will be a good entry level smoker.

I bought it today.
But the grid is painted and I had to through the meat away because it was full of the grid paint. And it smelled horrible.
