Okay smoker

I bought an older model for my mom several years ago and but this one is better made and I am able to properly use it now. The construction was easy but you need to pay attention to certain parts because some things are not clear. It was missing a few bolts and two of the holes securing the large cooking chamber to the rack were way off. The good about the grill does allow me to cook a lot more food at one time which is at least three times more than the small char-broil I had before. The heat is somewhat easy to maintain but needs to be watched frequently and can get from 225 to over 400 in no time with a small adjustment of the vents and the flap on the smoke stack. The bad is that smoke leaks out from the fire box and cooking chamber and the smoke stack attached just tight enough to not fall off when you open it up. The wheels could better constructed because the rod holding them together is too long and keeps them from having a sturdy feel to them. The paint has not peeled off from the first two uses which is great. Overall I am satisfied with it. So far I have only cooked ribs and wings and they have come out great.

Good smoker for the money.

I bought this smoker about 3 years ago and it has done a great job. I've smoked ribs, turkey, and pork butts and they all turn out fantastic. In fact I always get rave reviews about my spareribs and pork butts. Some of the issues people have with this particular smoker are legit but they haven't affected the quality or flavor of my meats. The smoker box did burn off paint after the first use but so what. My smoke box still does its job and hasn't rusted through yet and I usey smoker A The door to the smoker box doesn't still flush against the frame when you close it any more but that's minor. It does lose a lot of smoke on the sides and front but again hasn't affected the smoke flavor. So this is a good smoker and as long as you take care of it it should last a while. Don't leave it outside uncovered in the elements or it won't last it'll super duty and corroded in no time. I keep mine in my garage when I'm not using it. Bottom line is it comes down to your experience when using any smoker. Sometimes you have to play with it like opening or closing the damper doors or smoke stack or adding a little more charcoal or wood during cooking. That's how I learned to the the most out of this smoker and it's still going strong. I definitely recommend this smoker for the price you can't beat it!

Need Improvement in deluxe model

I you would Mogel your deluxe model after your silver modle with the door that closes on the frount insted of over the other it would not be great it would be an AWSOME GRILL SMOKER !! that small over sight is why i weny back too the smaller grill thanks RODNEY BILDERBACK

Cheap \ Poorly Designed and Constructed

When I started to assemble it, several pieces were bent so bad they would not fit together. First time I burned some charcoal in it all of the paint blistered and peeled off of the bottom of the grill - and that was will the charcoal grate two notches above the bottom. Works okay for grilling, but not suited for smoking which is ironic since it is in the grill name. Leaks everywhere. The charcoal grate is so flimsy it has bent and warped so the charcoal all rolls to the center. I'm researching buying a replacement for it. I saw the grill as being a good buy - inexpensive - but, it is true that you get what you pay for.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very very poor quality. would not recommend. First time i used it all the paint bubbled up and fell off. The whole fire box pretty much melted and unusable now. I would post pics but wont let me.

More work needs to be done.

This unit has a lot of work to do on it to make it a good grill. Lot of gaps for smoke and heat to lost. Need to even out the heat in the cooking section fill gaps and leaks. It going to take about $200 more to get the grill to work right.

Dented lid & scratched lid

Just started putting it together today received it yesterday! So far I’m really frustrated because of the large dents and scratches on the grill lid of my new smoker!

Large cooking area

Bought this for my husband and he loves it! Large cooking area for 3 racks of ribs, 6 chicken breast, 3 dozen wings, pork roast, poppers and still extra space! Easy to assemble and customer service was so easy when we had a problem with our lid. Highly recommend.
