I am EXTREMELY DISGUSTED WITH THE PERFORMANCE!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I have ALWAYS had used GE appliances. We would buy them used and have them fixed if needed and use the dog out of 'em and they took all the 'abuse' we dished out, load after dirty load of clothes. Recently we decided to buy another machine, I said I want a new one. We first bought another one that did not satisfy our washing needs. So, as a second choice, we bought the GE 3.9 stainless steel large capacity washer. I did not want anything fancy, just dependable.
I have tried everything imaginable to make my clothes smell clean out of this machine. I have added additional soap, I have decreased the size of the load, I have reran the rinse cycle numerous times per load all to only have our clothes, sheets and towels still have an odor. This machine just does NOT aggitate my clothes like the older more reliable GE washers; but it sure aggitates me. I would not recommend any of the newer water saving, entergy efficient products because they do not clean~! I wash for a husband that works outside in the heat, three very active grandchildren and 3 other family members - I know when the clothes are clean and so does my family!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] after the front load washer we had before, this washer is like the best thing since sliced bread. it washes really well, clean whites great, and quiet, oh boy, quiet unlike the front loader. the only problem with this washer is that we didn't get it sooner!! love it

my towels smell great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this washing machine it really gets my clothes clean my towels come out smelling great you simply select the fabric softener knob add the softener and it automatically dispenses the softener. Its easy to operate and quiet. It's also very large capacity. I can wash a really big load and everything comes out clean. Love it !!!!

For a heavy capacity machine it doesn't handle heavy loads well. When you wash heavy towels the drain and spin cycle is unable to get all of the water out of the basket. You have to run the cycle several times and the towels are still very wet. This put a strain on the dryer because it has to remove a great deal of water from the towels.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Had some problems at first

Great non HE washer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wanted a non HE washer so that the lid does not lock, allows water levels to be selected by the operator, washes clothes quickly and avoids the horrors of mold growing in the machine as many HE machines are noted to do...this is the machine that met all my criteria..I highly recommend this machine

Analog dials eliminate any digital confusion with the digital machines.
Washes closes well with reasonable cycle times.
Most do not need any more than this machine.
