Will not let you wash in hot water

I set the washer for Hot, but it only gives luke warm water, Warm gives cold water and Cold is well, cold. My hot water heater is set to 120 degrees. Had repair person look at it and was told this washer has a temp. control for energy efficiency, so in other words all you can wash in is cold, and not so cold water. If I had been told that by salesman I wouldnt have bought it but I cant afford the 20% restocking fee so Im stuck with this machine. So far it (Ive only had it 2 weeks) it washes well....fingers crossed!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good Old Fashioned NON HE Washer

Machine seems to run very well one day and 10 loads in. As with all new machines the "HOT" setting is luke warm. Thanks to the EPA hot water washing is a thing of the past.
Back to this machine, I was attracted to the lack of computerized switches. I have had a Maytag and a Samsung within the last 6 years and these were high dollor HE machines. Both were worthless. The Maytag shook my whole house and the Samsung leaked causing major water damage to my home.
So back to basics I went, and so far so good. I really like that it has an agitator and the I can set how much water to use. The HE machines will only use a small amount of water and it lets water in based on the weight of your clothes. This machine trusts me to judge how much water to use. I live on a well and water conservation is not an issue here.

Simple easy to use design

Purchased & installed a few weeks ago. Used it 6 times. Works just fine. Replaced a "W" brand commercial quality machine that was 13 yrs. old and did not want to get to the point where issues would occur. Felt that the old machine served us well (*still worked fine and looked new - The delivery crew commented that they thought it was only 3 or 4 yrs old at the most). We tend to take care of our appliances (my husband even waxed our washer&dryer a few times over 13 yrs). Hope our new GE washer hangs in there as well. It is NOT one of those Hi-Tech digital electronics designs. Old School & simple. Does everything it's supposed to. Relatively quiet. Slightly larger tub than our previous. I suppose I'll make use of that though it's just the two of us, so only wash once per week (3 loads max per week).
I would recommend this to a friend!
