This washer does not allow for just hot water. It is mixed with cold. I was not told this and had repairmen in, only to be told that this is how it was made. Then why have 3 temperture controls? I only get cold and warm. It also does not have a strong agitation.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This washer can handle all my needs! I like that my clothes are agitated rather than swished. Also, I have control over the amount of water used. And it takes my king size down comforter. The spin cycle is very efficient. I use it for my heavy duty items as well as for a small load

The only thing I dislike about the washer is it doesn't have a buzzer signal when the wash is finished.

This purchase is exactly what I wanted in a washer. It is so quiet, I didn't know it was even washing. Thought something was wrong with it. I'm very happy with this GE appliance and will look into other GE appliances as needed in the future.

Doesn't rinse well.

Washer doesn't rinse well. I use minimal detergent and have to double the rinse cycle many times I use it. It has a power rinse for use with softener. I use that every time, also use cotton cycle every time to try to not need extra rinse. Still use it about one third of washes.
