Plenty not to like with this washer
on January 21, 2016

This washer takes forever to fill with water. Also, the main complaint is that the clothes or towels get unbalanced easily and the washer makes huge noises and you have to lift the lid, try to balance out the laundry and then hope it will spin out and be ok.

Don't like the slight grinding noise it makes during the wash cycle, manual says it's the steel tub, normal, not to sure about that point

Basic washer
on January 26, 2016

I wanted a basic, standard, no electronic controls washer with an agitator and the salesman recommended this model. First the downsides: I don't like that it doesn't have a cycle for delicates/hand washables. I've never had a washer that didn't have that. I don't like that it agitates VERY slowly, even for the most heavy duty cycles. I don't like that there's no easy way to keep the machine from stopping when you lift the lid due to the safety features. It has several choices of water levels, but all except the deepest two don't seem to be nearly enough water to wash more than a small amount of clothes. I don't like that when you set it for "hot" water you still get lukewarm water, but I hear this complaint is true even for fancier machines. The machine feels lighter and "flimsier" than my washers in the past, but that's OK as long as it continues to operate. On the positive side, I like the stainless steel drum and that it's quite large inside. It's so deep that I have to stand on my toes to reach things on the bottom, but better that than too small. Its spin speed is extremely fast on all cycles, which hasn't seemed to cause tangles or wrinkles as some have complained, but it does get most of the dampness out of the clothes before they go in the dryer so the drying doesn't take as long. The cycles make a lot of clunks and bangs that none of my former washers have made, but I understand it's because of how the motor works. I wanted the simple mechanical controls as opposed to electronic. It's a very basic washing machine, but the clothes are getting clean and that's what matters most to me. We use it only lightly. I don't know how well it would hold up for a family with many and frequent loads. It doesn't seem as sturdy as the "old" machines used to be.
I would recommend this to a friend!
