the agitator moves too slow.

I bought this product in June 2014 and I am not satisfied. The agitator moves to the speed of a gentle/hand wash cycle only. This speed will not clean heavily soiled clothing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

old school simplicity

This is the first online review I have ever written. I am doing it because I really am happy to have found this washing machine for the fact that it is so simple.
It has no bells and whistles (literally: makes no chimes or buzzing sounds when the cycle is done).
The door has no lock so I can throw things in once the wash is going.
I appreciate that I can clean a small pile of clothes in a small amount of water as well as all the sheets from all the beds in a full tub of water.
I have recently had both a front loader (shook the house and made a racket) and a new "high efficiency" top loader (never cleaned clothes properly). This is the machine I am pleased to have chosen. I recommend it to those people who want a machine with a quick cycle who don't particularly care to have the most tech-y and modern things in their life.
The only con is that the spin cycle doesn't leave the clothes as dry as my front loader used to.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Where's the delicate?
on July 24, 2014

As far as washers go today, this one isn't bad. HOWEVER, it does not offer the option that I've always used..... speed of the agitator in the wash cycle. The machine I just replaced gave me a choice of agitator speed for washing heavy, regular, delicate or handwash loads. It appears that the new washers simply wash longer for more soiled clothes and less time for delicates. That is simply NOT the same as being able to change the speed of the agitator. Do the engineers who design these things even know how to wash? Many other consumers are in agreement with me. Why don't the manufacturers offer customers the options that we really want?

Less that expected quality

Washer was installed and made scraping noise in lower part of the washer. I was instructed to lift up the agitator and drop. Heard a pop and the scraping stopped. Called Warranty Repair to have this unit inspected in case of damage. No damage identified. Within 8 months the washer would make a very loud bang in the spin cycle. Called Warranty Repair. Repair man said he could find nothing wrong that would cause the loud bang. He did say that he saw metal shavings in the bottom pan. But did not know what was causing the shavings. The bang has not reappeared since service call.

I'm not sure I like the slow agitation with the washer. I also would like it to continue agitating when I open the lid, rather than stop. It seems to clean well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A washing machine I can control
on July 30, 2014

I love this washer and the matching dryer I wanted a washer I could control the water levels and be able to open the lid during a cycle. This washer allows me to set water levels and open the lid. Gets clothes clean and is super quiet. Sometimes I cant tell it is in cycle because it is so quiet. Love this set.
I would recommend this to a friend!
