Terrible Machine

This washing machine is HORRIBLE. Tiny little holes in the clothing when they come out of the washer. Sheets that come out shredded. Thank God they are not manufacturing this machine any more.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Multiple problems over a 7 year period. Lid switch is the latest part to go.

It tears up my clothes

I was hoping that purchasing a GE product would make me happy - I liked the fact that they are producing again. But, man, this machine tears up clothes! It's ruined 4 shirts and a pair of pajamas. There is no gentle cycle to speak of, and the mildest one doesn't even come close to being gentle. Anything with a string or straps will be destroyed. I could only afford this class of washer......but now I am having to replace clothes it's ruined (ever ruin a 15-y.o. girls brand new shirt??? Not a good reaction!!). BIG regrets on this purchase.
I guess, though, if you only wash jeans and towels it might be okay.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We researched washers for a couple weeks but kept coming back to this one because of the stainless basket, capacity, features and price. It runs and washes great. I read the previous review and I have not had any problems with my machine what so ever, especially with tearing any clothes. I would defineatly recommend this washer to a friend.

I love the automatic fill for water

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine was an excellent buy. My neighbor and I both bought them at the same time. Both our washers gave out 1 day apart. We saw this model at the store and loved the large tub. And the features are wonderful. What a great deal they had as well. We are very happy with our washers. Keep up the good work. So excited to do laundry now.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very worried when I first used this washer because it was so quiet...I thought it wasn't working correctly. But my clothes came out so clean...and smelled so good. I like things simple and this washer has just enough features to give me choices but keeping it simple. I really just wanted my clothes to come out clean and smelling even cleaner. So far it is doing a good job. I have recommended this washer to several of my good friends. I am completely satisfied...
I would recommend this to a friend!

Items get stuck under agitator

This is OK for a basic machine, and does spin the clothes so that they're almost dry. But it's not gentle on clothes. Today I heard a very loud noise coming from the machine, and found that my mattress pad had gotten stuck under the agitator, and the whole agitator came off and the top was damaged from hitting the basket. Never had this happen in all the many years I've used a washing machine.

The worst washer ever

This is the worst washer I have ever owned. It is always out of balance and does not spin the cloths out good. Sometimes I have to run the spin cycle 3 times to get the water out of them.
Will not be purchasing another GE washer, and thinking about taking this one back to where I purchased it from.
