cleans well, but one issue with rinse cycle

I have been happy with this washer. It does pretty well balancing items - even heavier towels do well since the pump drains the water prior to spinning. The one thing that I wish were different is that when the rinse cycle begins the agitator will begin when there is only a few inches of water in the tub and agitate quickly for a few seconds. Then it stops until the rinse water has completely filled. It is like it is agitating dry clothes which seems like it may harm the fabric. Sometimes if I am washing dressier clothes I will try get to open the lid as the rinse fills in order to not have this happen. Otherwise would recommend.

I wanted a washer that was without all the electronics, had basic controls and a center agitator. This one works for me, cleans my clothes well and has the usual spinning quirks like all top loading washers have to some extent. The directions suggest not washing blankets and the like but with care it will work. Washing two blankets and few towels will work but I wouldn't leave it by itself. You might need to rebalance the load. I haven't had other issues with full loads of small things or a load of towels as the works of the washer keeps items evenly separated in the tub. Washing a comforter like I did with my old washer requires the same and more attention but I cannot soak it unless I shut the timer off. Even with the lid open the machine will cycle to the end. It doesn't spin or agitate but will drain the water and cycle to the off position.

The GE washer is a great size. I can do very large loads but also can do much smaller loads of clothes. I like the different wash settings--i.e. perm. press, regular, heavy. I am very pleased with this washer.

Clean clothes-finally!

Had this washer for a year now and cleanest my clothes have ever smelled. The large tub holds a comforter easily which is what I was looking for-no high efficiency for me. Your clothes do sometimes end up twisted up, but have never come out damaged. Great machine for the price!

i bought this washing machine on may 2013
when i wash and it is draining shakes so much

Good washer for the price

It's a good washer for a cheap price, my only complaint would be that you can't put in too many heavy items (towels, jeans) at once or it gets off balance and rocks across the floor.
