We bought this washer after our previous one suddenly died...and 3 repairmen couldn't fix it! On the advice of one repairman, who suggested we look for a GE washer with as few "extras" as possible, we decided on this model. It has been great! We love the fact that we can decide how much water to use...the last one (which lasted a year) was a water saver and loads usually had to be washed several times-they never smelled clean, and often had detergent on them. Our family of four does A LOT of laundry, and this washer has kept up beautifully. We do loads every day, and they are usually of the largest capacity size. We wanted a washer that was reliable and washed clothes-we don't need anything extra. Looking forward to using this machine for a long time, as it was pretty difficult to find this straightforward and classic machine.

This washer performed well on the first two loads of towels and sheets. The clothes was a little drier after spin cycle than in my former--Maytag--washer, so got drier in the dryer without having to run them through twice. For a conventional washer, is an attractive control panel.

I'm very happy with this machine; it has a very large tub so I can wash comforters etc. with no problem. It is the quietest washer I have ever had and does a great job! I only wish it had a "gentle" cycle with a slower speed, otherwise, I'm happy with this washer.

Just received my GE top loader and I am totally satisfied. Sharp features which are easy to understand at first glance. Handled a large wash with good results. Price was fair for a top name brand applicance.

Nimble, fully mechanical machines are so valuable!

As a theatrical costumer and textile artist, I depend upon simple, fully manual/mechanical machines such as this. It doesn't think it's smarter than I am, but just immediately obeys where I set the dial. I depend upon the ability to adjust water levels, temperature, and length and speed of agitation. Please never stop making simple machines such as this one.
