Gets clothes clean but makes A LOT of noise.

I have been using my new washer for almost 3 months. At first I LOVED it! The drum is huge and can easily wash bedding and other bulky items. It was so quiet for the first month. After that, I started hearing a vibrating sound when the rinse cycle started. The sound for louder and louder over the next few washes. I called GE and they sent a repairman out to look. The guy said its in perfect working order and that I should expect noises with a machine that has moving parts. He said I could get GE to replace it but the same thing will continue to happen. The noise is now so loud that I can hear it all the way upstairs and laundry is on my main floor. I'm very disappointed in this washer. Also, the fabric softener cup doesn't dispense during the rinse cycle. Once the rinse drains the fabric softener is released and the washer sprays out a little bit of water while it spins. The fabric softener doesn't have the chance to get on all the clothes. There have been times I've had to rinse again because some clothes have visible fabric softener on them.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very, very happy with it, does all the basics and does not have sensors that need to make all the decisions.

Purchased this washer as a replacement for a washer that "died" during a thunderstorm. It has been great. I no longer worry whether a storm will break any motherboards.

Old washer went out and had to get a new one. We shopped around and decided on the GE. I am very satisfied with this washer.
