If you are short, you practically have to fall in the machine to reach the bottom to get loose items. Although you can adjust the water level, you still can't fill in more than half way. Shirts and long sleeve tees get twisted and tied up during the final phase. It takes more time to pull the clothes apart to place in the dryer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this to replace a front load washing machine which was only 8 years old. I wanted to go back to a machine that did not have all the extra sensors. This new machine cleans fine but is very noisy and the clothes have much more lint in the dryer than the front loader
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This washer is so simple. There are no computerized parts to try and learn to use. Like the agitator.
