Has exceeded expectations. Eveything that goes in comes out wonderfully clean. Easy to use, less confusing selectors.

So we got this washer about 2 weeks ago. As our other GE quit working and the Kenmore is for dog and other items it was time to shop. After reading MANY reviews of all types pf top loaders it seems people love or hate their washer. Our clothing comes out clean, smells good and the washer is fairly easy to use. There are way to many dial choices for wash cycles but if you are going the sensor route it would be better I guess. So far nothing has been caught in the agitator.(one of the complaints) I also noticed that folks complain about not enough water. Well we use the old school manual settings and things are good. I do wish there were better instructions about all the dials and choices. Have not figured out how to soak and use fabric softener at the same time. Guess we will find out if she is durable as time goes on but as of right now we have very clean clothing. Oh one more thing, if you read the manual it tells yo about the clicks and pauses. The spin cycle does sound like a jet taking off!!

Love it....it may take a "little" longer to wash, but everything comes out clean.
Even if wash takes a little longer, isn't that why we wash things to begin with?

Great Features but very bad water levels

I have had this washer for over 6 months now. I waited to review it because I wanted to see if it would get better with time and use. I bought this washer because it had a lot of fabric and water level choices. I received it from lowes and folloed the instructions to let to empty loads run before doing a load of wash. I set the level on super and waited for it to fill. Guess what it never has gone past the medium level. No matter what level I set it on including letting the washer pick and it has never filled past the half way mark. I can not do super loads, a family size amount of towels or even our blankets which I bought this machine because of the larger holding capacity. There are always 10 holes from the top showing no matter what level I choose. The top layer of clothes is never under water or in the soap so please do not tell me the are clean. I have a 17yr old son who plays a lot of sports and if I try to do a large load of his clothes they ar enever clean and fresh smelling. I wish I could like this washer because I was so excited to buy it but I can not wait for it to die so I can buy something else.

EPA regulations waste more water

This washer has many special features. They all work according to the manual. It's easy to use. The water levels are very frustrating 8" deep with a load of sheets. I use Max. load, deep water rinse and there are still dry spots when I hang them on the line. The tub is giant and could easily hold a light comforter, but I'm not sure how it would get clean. If I just need it freshened up, I'm sure that would work. GE suggest dropping the clothes around the agitator instead of loosely laying them around. I will try that with my next load and see if it helps.
Maybe I'm saving water, but I'm definitely using more electricity during the looooooong wash cycle. Sometimes needing to rinse and spin again.

Exasperating machine!

After fighting with this washer and hating it for 17 months, I finally figured out how to fool it into doing what I want it to do! No wonder it is no longer being manufactured! In order to wash in hot or warm water, I found I have to use the "Colors" setting ONLY, which allows me to switch between hot and warm. I'll be more selective the next time I need a washer.

Washing water level
on September 13, 2016

I understand this is a High Efficiency washer. But, thought the water level would at least be up to the first rung of the agitator when Maximum Load Level was selected. I don't know how the clothes manage to get clean being below the agitator rungs. I usually have to fill the washer twice once to get the clothes wet, then stop it, then start it again, and the washer drains prior to filling again. At this point I add my detergent so I can wash the clothes. Tried washing a comforter once and had to wash it twice as the top part never got washed. Turned it over and washed it a second time.
