We bought this in December 2013. We didn't want an energy washer and no where on the machine does it state it is! This is the nosiest machine I have ever owned or heard. The water does not cover the clothes, the rinse doesn't cover the clothes. We have to use the manual quick rinse cycle to get a good rinse. My clothes don't smell clean anymore and a lot of my towels and other clothing are becoming frayed. Don't try to change cycles after the washer starts or it will dump all the water out. This washer takes almost an hour to do a load of laundry. How they consider this energy efficient is beyond me. The water levels have a mind of their own. This machine will only fill about half full, so if you are getting the bigger tub to do more laundry or larger items like we did, do not waster your time!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had it for a couple of months. It's very quiet, I can hardly hear it! It also wrings the clothes out so well, my dryer doesn't have to work so hard.
