So far, so good

I bought this machine (and matching dryer) two weeks ago; the salesman said that he owned one & liked it. If I had read all the negative reviews first I probably would have bought something else (there are even reviews on youtube) but, so far, the machine has done just fine. Some people complain that the machine "walks" but mine hasn't. Some complain of excessive noise; I find that the sounds it makes are a little different but it seems to be a very quiet machine. Some complain that the clothes are tangled and not clean, but we haven't noticed any such problems. We did start using HE detergent, as recommended. The only complaint that I have is that it is slow to fill with water; water flowed much faster into my previous 15 year old differnent-make machine.
I bought a new GE washer-dryer pair around 25 years ago; as I recall the units were nicer looking with their dark brown control panels, but I didn't get to give them a long term test since my wife took them when she cleaned out the house and left a year or so later. This new Model 4250 is the first new machine that I've had since then.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had my washer for less than a year and bearings went out of motor !

I bought this unit yesterday and had 4 loads to do (since my old washer broke down). I used the auto sensor for the water level and the quick wash feature so that I could do all 4 loads without spending the whole day.
I have seen severa negative reviews concerning how the auto sensor does not supply enough water for the load. I had no problems with this-all 4 loads came out clean. I also noticed that the reviews about how dry the clothes came out after the spin cycle were true. I changed my dryer time from 50 min to 35 min and the loads came out fine. So I expect my electric bill to go down even further for this reason!

The first thing I did after installation was open the lid to check the capacity. It was so big it frightened me! I grabbed my husband and said "Look at the capacity!" This washer has a lot of options and cleans beautifully. Made an old lady very happy...

Disappointed. Clothes do not smell clean & fresh!!!! Have had 1 yr just paid it off...leaks under washer. Repairman came & made adjustment. Stopped. Made my last payment last month & it started to leak again (of course it has now that it is out of warranty)!!! I've always purchased GE washers & dryers. The set before this one was a traditional, top loader. Loved it, wish I still had it! Takes too long to wash a load of clothes. I HATE HAVING NO SUDS WHEN WASHING!! I use quality detergent, fabric softner & I use recommended amt.
