Works better than the HE washers

Purchased this model because wanted a machine similar to our 17 year old GE washer and not the new high efficiency washers which our friends don't like. Also wanted one with the hand wash cycle like our old one had. Have other GE appliances and found then to work well and last a long time. So stayed with them.

So Far So Good

Bought this a few months ago and it has worked out well so far. I never was crazy about GE appliances, but this seems to be a good product. The only issue I've had with it so far is that when I want to use the PreciseFill I can't have the lid open. I like to put my detergent in while I am filling the washer with water to help activate the soap. My last washer had a switch I could push to run a little water if I needed to fill the softener dispenser or wash my fingers off. I miss that feature. The capacity is amazing, though. I feel like I am going to fall in when I am trying to get the wet clothes out. Sometimes when the washer spins it sounds like an aircraft taking off. Not loud, just the same sound.

This washer and dryer set was a replacement for a "high end" efficiency top loader set we returned that was twice as expensive. The new "water saving" sets do not clean your clothes and run way too long I am so pleased with my new GE set, the standard agitator definitely makes the difference in how clean your clothes come out. The ONLY downfall is the loud clicking noise it makes when getting ready to spin. Love it! I hope that customers will always have the opportunity to purchase these old style washers with the full size agitators in them, nothing better.
