Takes too long

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It takes 1 hour to wash a regular load of clothes. It takes much longer than my old washer. You would think something newer would be more efficient than that. But the clothes are clean & my husband is in the construction business.

Worst washer ever! Hate it!

This washing machine leaves some strange residue on your clothes that looks like detergent and fabric fibers. It is nearly impossible to get off and ruins your clothes. I have tolerated this as long as posible. I am now doing research for a new washing machine, and I guarantee it won't be a GE!

I would not buy this washer again. Directions say to put soap in first. How do I know how much to use if I don't have my clothes in yet. Also I want my washer lid so I can have it open to see what is going on. It also makes so much noise when washing it can't be turned on before I go to bed. Also on slow spin the clothes still come out so wrinkled they have to be ironed. I have had GE's in the ;past for years with no complaints but I will be looking around next time. (married 60 years)

It's so quiet and a regular cycle takes only 45 minutes, that was very important to me since most of the new HE machines take a lot longer, and there is a speed cycle for a few garments you need right away. In fact, there is a cycle for almost any type of garment(towels,sheets,jeans,delicate,colors,whites,etc), soil level or water temperature. The reasons I chose this washer, other then the ones above, are: 1) Still has a normal agitator. 2) Still has manual knobs 3) Still has water level selector. I think a normal agitator is essential in getting the clothes clean. Most HE machines now are digital and I don't mind that but I think it would be very costly to repair if that broke. This washer has auto water level sensing but I love that fact that I can still choose for myself if need be. So, if you're looking for a new washer with the benefits of HE technology but still has some feel for old machines, look no further than this washer! I usually do medium to large loads and there is plenty of room for more if I need it. My husband did the installation and it was very easy. My clothes come out clean and it uses less water. The only thing I wish it had was a see thru lid, and be able to see how much time each cycle would take. But these were not deal breakers to me and I'm already learning how long cycles take.

spin cycles extremely loud

Just purchased this washer in 08/2013 after reading bunch of reviews how quiet it operates. Just don't believe in it. The the spin cycles extremely loud!!!!! Sounds like plane is taking off. I am not kidding!!!!
