[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] OMG this is the worst washer I've ever owned. I have always been a GE consumer but I can't stand this washer one more day. There is not enough water for me, I bought a 3.9 washer thinking I could save money by washing larger loads. I can't wash my comforters an the Laundromat is not a option. I waste more water an detergent by the machine draining if I reset. Please tell me there is another model out there for me because im on my way back to the store.

Worst washer I've ever seen!! DO NOT BUY!

Can not believe the poor performance of this machine. Barely gets clothes wet, let alone clean! Noisy, spin cycle sounds like a jet taking off. I'm returning it as soon as I can find a replacement!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this washer for 2 reasons:
1. It almost make no noise.
2. It can wash big comforters. I do not have to go laundromat to wash them anymore.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Stainless Steel Tub Rusted within 3 months
on January 2, 2013

The stainless steel tub rusted prior to owning this machine 3 months. A call to GE and was asked what color the rust was! I was told there was a calcium build-up (!) so GE sent me citric acid. I was to fill the tub to the TOP with hot water and then add the citric acid. Problem #2: the machine will not fill with water to the top without clothes in it!!! So, the ridiculous suggestion of using citric acid could not even be attempted. 4 calls to GE to get a service man scheduled.
The "finished cycle" signal goes off before the machine is finished spinning and is so quiet I can't hear it unless I'm in the room right next to the laundry room with the door open. So, I have to listen to the washing machine the whole time it is working.
My whites do not appear to be getting clean. They are dingy now with this type of machine.
Sheets will billow in the machine so you need to check them once in awhile and re-arrange them in the washer.
Soap does not rinse out of clothes (visible on dark clothes) even if I use the "Softener" selection which supposedly adds more water to the rinse.
Using fabric softener (in the center cup) is a pain trying to pour the softener with water added to the measuring cup/cap, without spilling the liquid directly into the tub. I have found fabric softener sitting in the bottom of the tub at the end of the cycle. I have stopped using liquid softener because of this.
How energy efficient is this machine when I have to rinse things twice in order to get the soap or fabric softener out of the clothes?
If I fill the machine with water it fills to about 1/8 of the tube (without clothes). If I hit the STOP button (3 seconds) the machine does not stop but drains the water rather than leave the water in the tub.
I do not like this machine.

I do not like it at all.

The tub is so deep that I can not reach the bottom. It will only fill 1/2 way with water no matter what you try to do. If you change your mind about the setting after the water begins filling, it will emply and start all over. I do not like this machine at all!! It must have been designed by someone who has no idea whatsoever what a washing machine should do.

Low water

I bought this washer for the size . We have a pool and we wash a lot of towels what I didn't expect is the fact that it doesn't have a deep fill for washing. It has a deep rinse. This washer is the most dissapppinting appliance I ever bought. A washer should fill with sufficient water or at least give you options. 14 inches of water is not a lot for a max load. I find myself washing mire loads with less water and it takes me twice as long to wash clothes. If you want a lot of water to wash clothes and have bigger loads this is not the washer for you.

Not happy

I purchased this washer 2 years ago for a vacation home so it doesn't get that much use. I bought it so I could wash quilts and lots of towels but I can't because of the low water level. What good is a large tub if you can't wash big loads. And now one of the agitator blades has broken making it even more useless. Yes, a blade broke!! I've never been so disappointed and mad over an appliance purchase.
