Within six wash cycles, machine died completely. Computer panel and main transmission had to be completely replaced. GE did extend the warranty by one year. However, having all of the main parts fail so soon is concerning.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our washer of 21 years broke. While it probably could have been fixed, we decided to buy new. So glad we did. Bought both the washer and dryer and are very pleased so far!

I was looking for a machine that had an agitator, was energy star rated, large capacity and DID NOT have a locking mechanism on the lid. This machine met all those requirements.

Great buy. Auto fill is a terrific feature. Easy to use. Fill it up and walk away. Saves water and spins real dry for drying efficiency. Very happy with this purchase.
