Very disappointing

When I bought this washer, I was depending on not only the reputation of GE washers as stellar performers, but also my experience with my previous washer. That was a mistake. This washer does not get my clothes clean. It barely agitates them. It says it is a quiet agitator. But it gently slashes the clothes around. Some of the clothes don't even get wet. I have to use extra-large and super large water settings in order to get all the clothes wet. I also have to use extra soap. I will never buy another GE washer again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We bought this a few month ago and all the controls work fine. It's Just a little noisy compared to my old one but does a fine job.

Perfect machine for me!

Variable water levels, multi-cycle selections, a "quick-wash" feature, and a NON-LOCKING lid all add up to a great choice!! This washer has a huge tub, and I have washed my comforters and spreads with no problems!! also lets you select a small water level for washing a few things at the time if you should need that feature!! Love the fact that the spin cycle gets so much of the water out of my towels therefore dryer time is greatly reduced! All in all, I am extremely pleased with my GE washer!!

Wanted to keep the agitator!

Didn't want/need tons of settings. My 89-year-old mother lives with me and I didn't want operating the washer to be difficult for her. Also, wasn't ready to go without the trusty "agitator"!

Nightmare hookup

I bought my washing machine in10 minutes but took a week to get installed. Hose on back too short & has to be used. Had to go to auto parts store to get two foot hose to add to original. Original hose has grove that causes leek. Had to cut off this end and insert into two foot hose as it was too short to reach outflow pipe in basement. He original hose is cheap and has fitting on end that only goes into washer. Now that it's working I love the washer but nightmare to hook up. First delivery men no help!!!!
