We were so excited after a flood to buy this washer, it did a great job of cleaning up muddy clothes and was very efficient. The options and stainless steel tub were just what we need for a busy ranch family. 3 months in and the Control board has fried, it was on a surge protector so not an electrical power surge. The warranty service center is not available weekends so I have to wait until Monday to talk to someone. That is a bit frustrating but I hope they will honor the warranty. I would buy another machine if given the choice, hopefully we can get this fixed. The repairman said "call GE and get the part free"...so that's what we will try to do Monday. Would have rated 5star except for the breakdown, if they replace the part it will be back to 5.

I ENJOY WASHING CLOTHES NOW. I SAVE MONEY ON WATER AND DETURGENT. I ALSO LIKE THAT IT RUNS SO QUIETLY.

2nd time is a charm

This is the second time I have gotten this washer in the last month. Why? Because the first one was a lemon and had to be replaced. The first one sounded like it would explode or crash through the floor. When Abt removed it, there was gray dust (metallic?) on the floor. The new washer works but is pretty basic. I am not sure the water saver feature works effectively. I do like that I can open it while it is working to add an item that I forgot. I also have a small or narrow space for a washer, so this one works in the space.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Does It All and Does It Well

Went through 2 H.E. washers and was completely disappointed in the "new" technology so I went back to the tried and true and this GE washer is both. Even though it incorporates some of the "new" technology, it does it in a way that still gives me what I want and that is "clean clothes", but without having to do them twice.

If it ain't broke don't fix it is the age old age that proves as true today as the day it was uttered. We bought this machine because the top loag with agitator has always been a solid performer in getting our clothes clean and without all of the added repair costs associated with the "advanced" front loader design. This washer is exactly what we were looking for and hope this style is still around in another 20 years when it needs replaced!
